I was reading the SP article today on the 5 most common running/walking injuries. I have 3 of the 5. Since my big toes are fused due to arthritis I have plantar fasciitis, over-pronation of my feet and have to wear orthotics in my running shoes when I go walking. This has worked well however, my doctor wanted me to increase my walking to aide in weight loss so I did increase slowly (I thought) but ended up getting ITB syndrome and shin splints! I am doing special stretches/massaging for the ITB and hopefully once that is relieved the shin splints will go away. Does anyone have any personal suggestions as to how to manage these conditions. thanks
