Have changed back to Stevia and my symptoms have calmed down. Just takes a little detective work. Thanks for responses.

Hi,
I would agree that maltodextrin is not good for us. Also I can't take any artificial sweetener that ends in -ol: sorbitol, mannitol, isomalt, malitol and xylitol.

I would think that Splenda could definitely be the culprit. I actually have so many triggers. Many sugar substitutes cause issues.

My main IBS D triggers are eggs and lactose. Having found a lactose-free probiotic and was having good results. Suddenly the D has started up again and I have scoured the cupboards searching for a culprit. I have recently be using Splenda (around 2 teaspoons daily) and wonder if the maltodextrin has the same effects as aspartame. I will stop using and go back to Stevia (which did not upset my digestion) but just wondered if anyone on this forum has any knowledge or experience.
