It's for Tucson AZ residents to get free celiac testing ... anyone with IBS should get tested. (And try a gluten free diet even if it's negative, but getting the test first is the responsible thing to do!):

I've also heard that people should be tested for gluten intolerance as Celiac's disease often presents with the same symptoms as IBS. I was diagnosed with IBS-C after my colonoscopy came back normal but was never tested for gluten allergy so I'm not sure how often GI docs actually test for it.

Yes I feel for you, been through all of those too. And they are guessing as to what it is. But that is what they do try one thing if it works good it not try something else. They will find out hang in there.

Thanks for the reply. I know that high fat dairy products don't cause as much gas as low fat ones. I just had homemade ice cream last night and it didn't bother me, yet the name brand ones that have guar gum and cargeenen in them give me gas flare ups.. What if I'm not lactose intolerant after all? All I had last night was blocked up nasal passages. I can't deny that I have IBS-C though, I have the pain free abdominal spasms almost every day, but right below the spasm area is my HOT SPOT where the stools and gas cause prickly knife like pain. I swear the gas and stools are stretching my colon and that's what causes pain. The colonoscopy did not indicate operation scarring on my colon. All I know is that sometimes my gas has caused me to double over with pain so I stay way from beans and the cabbage family veggies. I also wonder how I can stop swallowing air when I drink and eat?

I had all of the above what you had a few months ago and I myself are in your shoes. All tests came back normal. Your doctor and suggest a lactose intorance test maybe dairy can be part of it. Did you have some blood work done aswell to see if it was bacterial? I had all of them aswell. My gastro doctor is making me have one more test next month to see if it may be another source of bacteria in my small intestine. I don't know the name of it I will have to look it up on the paper but it's a three hour test where you blow into the bag just like the lactose test. Usually if all tests come back normal they think it's IBS.
Mine is acting up very badly again this past week. Today was the worst ended up on the couch sick. I hate it so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have had an endoscopy, a colonoscopy and a Cat Scan and they all came out normal, so the Gastro doctor said I must have IBS-C. Are there any other medical tests I should have to see if my problems aren't only IBS-C? I also have Acid reflux.
