I have to say, I took a typing test for the county - first one in YEARS - and I did 71 with one error! Did 80 in high school so was super surprised that my speed was not down to 50 or 60.

I joined this team to help motivate me to get 10,000 steps. This last few weeks I have been struggling with exercise. Today I went for a long walk this morning. I did not push myself for speed. I just had a certian destination in mind. It is a bit over 4 miles. It took me just shy of 2 hours. I am not happy about that. I am thrilled that my ending steps for the day are 14040 plus a few to get me to bed tonight. Thanks for a great team. . emoticon

I have to crow!! I took Sam to the dentist today and they got xrays of her teeth after 1.5 years. They were impressed and told me I was doing a great job at keeping her from the sweets and sugars that do damage to the teeth because she has perfect teeth.

emoticon I have lost 1 in. off my butt and 1/2 in. off of each thigh. I am also only 5 lbs. from my goal weight!

I was still losing some weight, but I had been on a plateau with my measurements for a while.

I credit this amazing feat to the decision to join you guys on this journey of a 10,000 steps a day. It is doing wonders for this old lady's sagging butt! Let's keep on stepping!

I had a feeling when I pulled in to the parking lot that I would have to wait and told my son (we had the dog with us) that I would park under a tree and if they were not open inside yet that I would walk. He didnt want to go in.

I had never actually turned myself in to a Mall walker. The stair steps were rough after a bit but I felt pretty good knowing that I did as much as I did and didnt just sit on my behind.

Mary, the stretching program is fantastic. I am a woos though. I can only do the very 1st couple of notches on the beginning workout. And, those are effective!

Sept15th through Nov 1st I am grounded to a degree from outdoor walking on the greenbelt because of my sage allergies. At that time I will strive for resistance training and really focus on this workout.

What a great buy!

I just found (and bought) the Slim in 6 for $1 at a thrift shop. I haven't tried it out yet, but I plan to do it soon.

finally found this forum katmomma! thanks for recognizing my steps and making me team member of the week and thanks for all he nice comments on my page! most of all thank you katmomma for support and encouragement (((hugs))) several of you ask how i got such high numbers so here goes- i have a dog that i walk a couple miles a day for potty breaks, i have this area where where i live where they converted old railways to nature walks and one of my favorite walks is a scenic one where i walk 13 miles from chillicothe to frankfort it is so beautiful that it makes the walk seem easy! and last is i have 8 grand kids 4 and under and almost daily i have at least a couple over and they definitely keep me on my toes! lol thank you again! emoticon emoticon

Yesterday, I did a 2 1/2 training walk. I started feeling punkie and I finished strong!

I also kept my commitment and began again the Slim in 6 DVD. The stretching program on that workout is the best. I also did the 1st portion of the beginning work out.

I had to get creative to do it but I have finished day 4 of 25000 steps. I barely made it.

Around the house steps, mowing, garden, 10 minutes worth of step ups and watp 6 miles. It was hard today but I did it.

I made it to 26,746 steps today.
I couldn't believe it when I added everything up and saw that number.
I rode my bike 70 minutes (14.65 miles) back and forth to work today and then I walked 4 miles while at work (it was a very busy day).

Yesterday I get my Goal for the day walk the stairs twice get my 30.000 steps in it was a good and productive day,

for today I am getting my hair done and my nails, and I want to get at least 25.000 steps in so I am on my way to the gym now to start my day, emoticon emoticon

Living a Healthy and Active Life style, Reach my Goal and very Happy with my Body,my eating habits,Fresh Fruits, Lot's of Green vegetables,drink 8 To 10 glasses of water daily.

Keep on searching. Try any and all athletic clothing and supply stores you come across. Also, if you have a YMCA or gym near you, put up a flyer.

Hi everyone,
I had a wonderful time with my friends yesterday,we have lunch, walk the mall do some shopping,visit my friend in the Hosptial,and just sit and talk and laugh it was agood day,

Katmomma I would love to have a walk team where I live or even a Running team but everyone I try to get to walk they don't want to, one lady told me that the only thing she exercise is her mouth,so when I am not in the gym I walk with my hubby at the mall because he can't walk in the heat, emoticon emoticon

I went to the gym early this morning get my 4 mile walk,no running today,I am having the day out with my friends for lunch, movies,and may be some ice cream that will be a treat,LOL. emoticon emoticon

I got in 14926 today. Wierd Cause yesterday I did a little over 11000 and mowed for longer then I did today.

60000 is a lot of steps. How do you do that.

My highest is 37400 steps.

TaDa!!! 25,000 big ones!! Count them!! LOL This morning I did my normal hour walk at the mall with added stair-steps; Did a 1 1/2hour nature walk on a trail I am using to train for the 1/2 marathon in April '10. BTW: It was raining and I didn't mind at all!; 2 mile diet walk WATP. And I still have some time to add some more steps.

Yahoo!! It feels great to feel healthy!

Wow,MSDB_61 That's amazing - my best was around 29000. Now I have a GOAL! My pedometer will register up to 99999, think we can do it???

If I retire, maybe. . .

In addition to LS walking, walking the dog and just taking the long way around, I have started Jillian Michaels 30 day shred - can't wait to see results - only 28 more days!

My witness lol is my 13 year old. He had to do my running up and down the hill. I ran out of gas in the rider. He brought it down. I knocked the push mower on its side and put it back up and asked him to drag it back up the hill for me. He was sweet enough to do it. He said he got some steps for it so he helps me.

I havent been burned or tanned in so long that I didnt even think about it while I was outside.

I walk 6 miles to visit my friend in the Hospital today and get wet in the rain but it was well worth it because I get my steps in I was running and walking, emoticon emoticon
