That was a great video ! I'm going to start doing that.
Thanks for posting that video.......
I signed up for her blog.......
I don't buy at warehouse stores like she does, I am too thrifty to pay the membership fee plus I can find better meat prices on super sales.
But I do buy in bulk at grocery stores when they have super sales.
And I do have alot of those spices she was talking about and showed in the video. Since coming to SparkPeople I've started switching over to only homemade spice mixes, since the other kind are so unhealthy, full of MSG etc. Plus homemade spices are more frugal, as well as tasting better. But her idea is a GREAT way to use up what you have and save time later as well - the seasoning is already DONE.
How to Buy in Bulk, Divide It, Season It, Freeze It, Then Cook It in the Crock Pot.
I DO do this same thing, as a single, it works great for large families but she IS correct it's also great for singles.
Remember to match the size of your freezer bag contents, to the size of your crockpot. If you have a large crockpot it should be 2/3rds full; if you are single and have a small crockpot, fill and freeze smaller sizes of bags. Also be sure to use Freezer Bags, not Storage Bags. And I find it much easier to write on the outside of the bag with a sharpie, while the bag is empty. If you can remember to do that before you fill it, that is!
