For summertime, add some make-ahead sides, like green salad, crock pot baked beans, homemade potato salad, cool cucumber salad. Snake the cord outside to the garage, patio, porch, or step. But I like the crock pot inside even in the summer, because of the aroma that fills the house. It's so much better than slaving over a hot grill for BBQed chicken!! I LOVE THE CROCK POT!!!
Yes it's true, between job hunting, preparing to move, and having no internet or intermittent internet, I've been away from SP.
But the good news is, I've been collecting some really good BBQ Chicken recipes. Each is posted here because of a different attribute.
I cook a large crockpot full once, usually chicken leg quarters when they go on sale, and serve whole chicken pieces on the bone for a couple dinners a few days apart, like Mon dinner, Tues lunch, and Fri dinner. I debone and shred the rest, serving it again and again as other things, bagging it up in the freezer for future use.
Asian BBQ Chicken Putting this grill recipe in the crock pot eliminates the need for marinating ahead of time, love the flavor of this. Boneless breasts 4.5 hours on low, leg quarters 8 hours on low. www.ourbestbites.com/2011/05/asian-b bq -chicken/
