Saint Valentine was a Christian who was imprisoned for his faith. Before he was executed, he wrote a letter from jail expressing Christian love to a young blind girl, who was healed and her vision restored. In memory of Saint Valentine, a feast in his honor was held each year (St. Valentine's Day) and letters and notes of encouragement in the faith and God's love were sent to each other.
So the true story of St. Valentine's Day was not about eros love or phileo love, it was about agape love, the "God-kind of love", the love that wishes God's highest and best for the other person.
Jesus said in the last days, "the love of many would grow cold". That's a pretty chilling statement. And that's very prevalent as we look around us today, isn't it? But here in the SparkPeople (SP) community, we can change that!, and we can and are making a difference.
SP excels at supporting and encouraging others, as we work on restoring our own health and fitness. So let's show the love and send some encouraging valentines to each other. We can wish the highest and best for our teammates.
In honor of Saint Valentine we'll step this challenge up a notch, and give a valentine to another Crock Pot Cooking Team Member each day, alphabetically starting at your SparkName, through the 14th which is St. Valentine's Day, and post who you sent the valentine to.
If you take two days off SP you can do 3 at once when you get back on, and so on.
Say whatever you wish as long as it is uplifting and encouraging, and identify yourself as a member of The Crockpot Cooking Team.
I will also be leaving a Valentine-themed goodie and adding them as a SparkFriend if they're not already, but that is up to you.
Example: My SparkName is FearlessLife, so, I will start by going to the Team Page, scrolling down to the end where the Team Members listed, and I'll leave a valentine comment on the SparkPage to a team member who's SparkName begins with G today, post who I sent it to, and tomorrow send a valentine to an H, etc through Feb 14th.
Personally I will also be leaving a Valentine-themed goodie and adding them as a SparkFriend if they're not already, but that is up to you.
The red rose goodie and hearts goodie are in the Fun goodie tab, the Valentine doily is in Other goodie tab, chocolate is in Food goodie tab, Crock Pot is in Home goodie tab, etc.
Say whatever you wish as long as it is uplifting and encouraging; your own words are best but here's an example you can use, change up, etc:
Hello ______, this is ______ from The Crock Pot Cooking Team, stopping by your page with some Valentine Hugs and wishing you well on your SparkJourney.
