adding 30 minutes of Elliptical time to my schedule each day..... exercise is important even during garden time.

I've changed my fitness plan to have a fairly hard day with cardio intervals, then the next day is relatively easy. This seems to be better for me and I'm feeling less stressed too!

something that's working for me now is mixing roasted peas and dried fruit. Get a little sweet and a little crunch.

Our stores have had cantaloupe on sale lately. I buy a couple and cut it all up into a large bowl. Whenever I get a craving for something sweet, I just dish up a bowl.

Hey MomInGarden. I have found out the same thing. I almost always have grapes sitting next to me, or out on the counter. I don't even crave sugary sweets much anymore.

I had to comment on this one since we are entering the busy season in the garden. Working for me right now is HAVING HEALTHY SNACKS AROUND! It uses to be all to easy to come in from the garden and grab a handful of nacho chips and salsa. I have been trying to stick to eating clean so I have Apples and Grapes on hand at all times!

Happy Gardening... When you go to pick up the Mulch and seeds for the garden be sure you have some healthy snacks on the grocery list as well!

Getting good sleep at night. I love water, it's like my best friend. I look forward to my days of attending Curves, and I am looking forward to a spring walk. My lower back is not hurting that much since I lost some weight.

EXERCISE - DAILY!!!! It is amazing how just a few days of doing a 30 minute workouts makes me want to do it EVERY DAY after I get on that roll. It is is hard to start up for me - but once my blood gets pumping I remember how WONDERFUL I feel once I have exercised.

The one thing that is working for me, is the treadmill. Always read about how people hate it and get bored with it. I found I enjoy challenging myself to go longer, faster, further and harder. I love that feeling when you've run so hard and long that your leg tingle when you stop.

I found that talking to my husband about what I want, and am going to accomplish, is a good thing. He is much more supportive, and tries to feed me good foods instead of treats. (Why was I hiding all this from him before) I also do my workouts in the morning. If I out it off, It doesn't always get done.

I finally bought a pedometer (Omron) and am tracking my steps. It HAS challenged me to walk more. I still don't do enough steps on my non-running days, but am increasing those at least some! I also set my cardio walk/run goal to 750 miles this year and I'm right on track with the weekly average needed.

The one thing really working for me is watching
my food intake - slowing down while I am eating which is hard to do as I am a nurse and we usually
eat fast and standing up. Keeping a record of
what I am eating is essential and weighing every
day. As of yesterday, I have lost a total of
11 #'s since December 29th. Yea! Sunny

I am working on exercise also. I am getting prepared to do at least one 5K run/walk and possibly a half marathon. I still need more info on the marathon before I decide. I am trying to walk/run at least three days a week.
