As we approach the summer olympics in London, I thought it would be fun to have our own little olympic themed challenge for the summer! The summer olympics will begin in 6 weeks, so let's gear up with a Go For The gold Challenge to see how many fitness minutes we can rack up each week! Fitness minutes will be counted for any exercise outside the realm of your normal daily activity. Your fitness minutes can be cardio, yoga, pilates, tai-chi, strength training, walking the mutts.... anything that SP would count as fitness!
The challenge will begin this Monday, June 11 and run thru July 22. Beginning on Sunday, June 17, post your weekly fitness minutes in this thread. Please try to post by midnight your time zone on each Sunday. I'll keep track and award medals at the end of the challenge! Hopefully this will be a way for us to make sure we are getting in fitness minutes as those dog days of summer come upon us! Join me?
Gold Medal = 420 or more fitness minutes a week; that is 60 fitness minutes a day; for a grand total of 2520 minutes or more by the end of the challenge!
Silver Medal = 315 to 419 minutes per week; about 45 minutes day for a grand total of 1890 by the end of the challenge!
Bronze Medal = 210 to 314 minutes per week; about 30 minutes per day; a grand total of at least 1260 minutes by the end of the challenge!
Honorable Mention (White Ribbon) = 70 to 105 minutes per week; 10 to 15 minutes a day; grand total of 420 to 630 minuts at the end of the challenge!
