To remove grease buildup from kitchen cabinets easier, heat a damp sponge in microwave for 20 to 30 seconds. Use gloves, spray cabinets with cleaner containing orange oil, eg. orange glo, Wipe off with the warm sponge. Rinse and reheat sponge to continue.

Friday tip: Refreshing spray with dryer sheets! Open and empty spray bottle, and slip in a dryer sheet or two. Fill the bottle with water, and screw the lid back on. Now you have home-made refreshing spray! Spritz the air or household fabrics to refresh the whole room or house!

Little known uses for salt---Get rid of excess bubbles in your dish water or when washing clothing by hand by sprinkling a pinch of salt into the water.
Also remove dirt from greens by swirling them in a bowl of salted water. (This tip may come in handy now that garden time is here !)

Friday tip: Pets on Planes! When traveling with a pet in the plane's cargo hold, freeze water in their dish over night, because the water is frozen solid at first,it won't spill out before the trip starts, and your pet should have plenty of water for the duration of the journey!

To speed up clothes drying, as soon as one load is dry, put in another. Since the machine is already warmed up, clothes will dry quicker.

Pour coke on your battery terminals if they need cleaning. ( I had read this, and actually had to use it one time and it worked. I was out and my car wouldn't start. I poured coke on the terminals which looked like they needed cleaning, and my car started)

Friday tip: Use you hair conditioner to shave your legs. It's cheaper than shaving cream and leaves your legs really smooth. It's also a great way to use up the conditioner you brought but didn't like when you tried it in your hair.

Sorry didn't get to post this yesterday.
When working with yarn, e.g. crocheting, knitting, and (like me) you want to roll the yarn in a ball then throw the ball on the floor so that it will roll easily as you work; but, perhaps you're making something for a baby or using yarn that dirties easily- the tip: put your ball of yarn in a pillowcase before putting on the floor, then the yarn will roll around in the pillowcase and will stay hygienic and cleaner than when on the floor itself.

Its Friday: For the filming of " Arachnophobia", animal trainers use Lemon Pledge to control the spiders. Spiders perceive with their feet, and when they step on a boundary line drawn with lemon pledge, they go the other way! Because any citrus oil work, choose your favorite ( lemon, orange, lime, grapefruit.) To wipe on windows and door frames. You can use it in any area of your home or garden where you might want to repel spiders! ( safe for pets and children,) so don't be afraid to use it!

Out of shoe polish? Shoes looking dull? Make those shoes shine by rubbing with vaseline. Either rub vaseline on shoes by hand and wipe off excess with a cloth, or put vaseline on cloth and apply to shoe.

Tired of your bathroom mirror fogging up after a shower?
Try rubbing a cucumber slice along the mirror... It will eliminate the fog and provide a soothing, spa-like fragrance.

Fridays Tip: Mouthwash for Mosquitoes: Want to cut down on mosquitoes in your yard this summer? Fill a clean spray bottle with gold mouthwash- a store brand will work as well as Listerine. Spray your lawn around your lounge or play area. It won't hurt the vegetation, but it will keep the mosquitoes away. So you can enjoy the outdoors.

Friday tip? I am not sure if I post this one or no but here goes? No matter how careful I am,I always, end up with white streaks all over my dark clothing. If I don't have time to wash the item,I rub the stain with a pair of nylon tights, and it comes right out.
In case I posted this one here is another one? Got an empty large oatmeal container? Use it to store extra toilet paper. Just cover it with decorative paper or a wallpaper scrap, and you've got a pretty holder for spare rolls.

Friday tip: I brought a beautiful 100% wool oriental rug years ago by asking a local rug cleaner if he had any that had never been picked up. I had several to choose from and paid only the cost of cleaning.
Not sure if I said this one or not but here goes? Soften stiff jeans: getting new jeans to feel comfy can take time. To make them more supple in a flash, rub a fabric softening dryer sheet briskly over the surface of the pants. ( Turn dark denim inside out to protect the finish.)

Today tips: 5 things to buy in March: 1. China & Flatware 2. Frozen Foods 3. Garden Supplies 4. Perfume and 5. Winter coats, sporting goods and accessories.
5 worse credit cards to Avoid: 1. Applied Bank Unsecured Vista gold card 2. First Premier Bank Master card 3. Baby Phat Prepaid Vista Rush card 4. Hooters Master card 5. Shell Select Member card These cards have been deemed the very worst by CNN Money!
Now a tip for saving water: I keep a very large pitcher or container on the counter near the sink. Every time I need hot water I first run the cold water from the hot tap into it. When it is full I use it to water plants or to put into the humidifier. Amazing the amount I have been able to save each month on my water bill.

Its Friday!! Got itchy winter skin? Pour 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar in your bath water. Soak and bath as usual. The cider vinegar will take away the itch and, surprisingly, you won't smell like vinegar when you're done! Follow your bath with a skin moisturizer to help heal dry skin and prevent the itch from returning.

Friday's tip: Some uses of those receiving blankets: Use a receiving blanket and a bit of ribbon to wrap baby gifts,or to pad and decorate a basket of baby goodies.
As and emergency cloth diaper- most receiving blankets are flannel, the perfect fabric for cloth diapers. Just fold yours into the right size & shape and lay inside a waterproof cover.
Also makes a good dust cloth too?

Friday tip: Occasionally, you'll need to rest your broom or mop against a wall. To prevent it from sliding ( leaving a scuff mark on the wall? ) and crushing to the floor, cut off a finger from an old rubber glove and fit it over the handle-- securing it with some tape or glue. Now brooms and mops stay put where you put them.

Friday's tip is here again? Do It Yourself pore strips ( this is the recipe I found but I think you could 1/2 it if it is too much for one application.) 1/2 teaspoon Knox unflavored gelatin 1 teaspoon of milk Stir together and microwave for 10 seconds ( or less) to warm it up and melt the gelatin. Use a cosmetic brush** and apply the mixture to your nose and chin ( make sure you avoid ) your eyes.) Let the mixture dry for about 20 minutes so it can harden then peel off the strip. ** Make sure you wash out your brush right away or it will get real hard.

Fridays tip: Prevent mirror fog during bath-time and showers. Rub small handful of men's or women's shaving cream over the entire surface. Wipe away until it shines clean. Last for about 3-4 weeks.
