Lately I've been using an old trick. I ask the waitstaff to box half of my food before it even comes to the table. It removes some of the temptation and normalizes the portions. That way if I make reasonable choices I stay on track.

Thank you so much... I hadn't even thought about Applebee's or Chili's. I had wondered about the soup/salad at Olive Garden. I know that it gets difficult, not just the economy, but disappointments when watching calories, fat content, etc.

Thanks, ladies... emoticon

Good question! It really is tough to eat out. We have really cut back on our eating out. Applebees Weight Watcher's options are good choices and Chili's has their guiltless grill. Sodium is always a concern, even if the calories are within reason. For me, Subway is the best choice...I do love a good veggie sub! Sometimes hubby and I split the fajitas at Applebees without too much damage on the scale.

I have a really hard time making good decisions when dining out, especially now that I cut out the meat.

I know that most places have a "lighter side" type of menu, like Olive Garden, Applebees, the other chains.

I did notice that Quizno's subs, however, does not have a light menu. I thought that was odd.

I hope this somewhat helps!

Hi. Just wondering where, if any of our local Pensacola restaurants serve great, healthy food options so that we may keep to our SP goals? We don't eat out much, but it's something I like to do from time to time and want to incorporate these better choices into my new life.

Any suggestions...
