I joined Sparks because it supported the healthy lifestyle I was striving to achieve and assistance with weight loss. I've stayed because I am still struggling to lose the weight and because I have gotten so much support during this journey.

I joined spark people because I want a better and healthier life for me and my family. I want to be able to be the mother that my daughter deserves. To be a mother that can run around and play and not have the aches and pains that are associated with me being obese. I am just tired of making excuses. Not only I am a mother and a wife, but I am only 20 years old. I am too young to be feeling so old! I found the site through some friends on a military wife support site. =) I found out I have high blood pressure and I was devastated. My doctor told me at my weight I was on a clear path to diabetes especially since it runs in my family. He told me I shortened my life by 30%. I just couldnt believe how big of a shock and knock in the head that was! I've only been active on it for about 3 days now and am still learning the ropes, but so far I am liking what I see. Now its time to get serious about weight loss!

I tired of keeping track of points even though I successfully lost 20 lbs on WW and kept it off. I wanted something that could inspire me daily rather than just once a week. And Sparkpeople is free, who could ask for more?
I have learned that I must love myself where I am at rather than some unattainable concept placed in my head by distorted media social norms. And guess what? I kinda like who I am.

My doc told me the only people he had seen be successful at losing weight were those who wrote down everything they ate. I was trying to do that...and found SP looking up the calorie counts of foods on the internet. I joined because it was free...even though I couldn't believe it...I kept looking for the pop-up box asking for my credit card number! Once I joined...I was HOOKED! I just played around for 6 months...then I got serious AND lost some serious weight.
SP is the best thing that ever happened to me healthwise! 60 pounds lighter and loving life!!!!

I found out about this website through a friend who heard about it through a magazine. Thought I would check it out and I have to say it is the best website for dieting, meeting friends and pure healthy living. I just can't get enough of spark people. There is just so much to learn, fantastic articles and friends that give you a little shove when you think that you have lost all hope. I have always said that spark people is like having your own personal trainer! I think the key to success is writing everything down that you eat and measuring and weighing all of your portions along with cardio and a little weight lifting and you are on your road to a healthier, happier you. Thank you spark guy for this wonderful place where we can go and get the best information, wonderful recipes and support that we need to meet our goals.

I read about it in a magazine--can't remember which one but then I went online & checked it out because it sounded so good. Found out it was even better than it sounded. I also add my to SparkGuy Chris! This site is actually a lifesaver.
