Sorry, forgot to post sooner. There was not enough interest to generate a group rate to Belize.

If anyone wants to take a group trip somewhere... let me know... get enough people together and I'll work on a group trip anywhere!! : )

For now... I'm going solo to Ft. Lauderdale on July 17-24 and am looking for a trip/dive buddy. : )

We are in the works with partnering with a dive shop we made contact with in Belize to do several "destination dive" trips. WE are now discussing places to go. Since they are in Belize, they are thinking other locations first. Cozumel, Costa Rica, Riviera Maya have been discussed. Personally, we may reschedule the trip to Belize in June instead. This is "low season" and many rates would be cheaper and the weather is still good. : ) We were there in August and had a great trip. I'll keep you all informed as to locations/dates we plan. the dive shop would like to have groups of 8 as they would be the dive master and we would only use local dive shops for the equipment/boats. : )

We can't go the first week in Jan. ... Family in town from the holidays.

Any flexibility in the time frame. Maybe a little latter in Jan. ?? We would definitely want to go if it was in latter Jan. or Feb.

What are we looking at for group rates? Would love to get more info on this!!

Per one of the resorts we interviewed, they were very informative... especially on airfare. They suggested flying into Mexico, Cancun I believe as it is cheaper than flying into Belize, then take a "local" airline into Belize for around $100. I will look further into it if anyone is interested.

Ohhhh.. I have been daydreaming about diving in Belize. Everything I have seen about Ambergris Cay is amazing. Also, the "big blue hole". When I was looking around at travel rates, airfare from New York/New Jersey seemed a lot more expensive then what you noted from LAX.
I don't know if we can swing the January dates- but if we can I'll definitely let you know.

My husband and I just got back from Belize this past August. We loved it we are planning a trip back hopefully the first week in January 2-9, As travel agents we can get a group rate if we are able to book 8 rooms double occupancy which included discounts on diving as well. Please email me if interested and I can forward you some pricing if we get enough people to go. It's high season and very reasonable to eat, etc. there. WE would be staying on the island of Ambergris Cay which is simply lovely. Everyone is English speaking and extremely friendly. : ) this would be truly a trip of a lifetime. Airfare depends on where you leave from. It is approx. $600 from LAX. We took our trip as travel agents and scoped out several hotels, dive shops and restaurants. WE guarantee a great time.

Comet60, I would most certainly be up for going to Florida. I did that trip in Jan this year, but it was SO cold, and the waves were so bad, with the surging, we were only able to get in 2 dives for the whole trip.
Keep me posted, and if you have a friend that wants to bunk with me, I'm fine and open to that too.

(close and inexpensive) We are thinking John Pennekamp (it's a undersea state park)

Looking to meet up with other divers for any upcoming dive (inexpenisve)trips, if you don't mind me tagging along on my own.

If not this year...what about a group trip next year? I don't mind sharing accomendations, and having a roommate.

Diving in US is fine by me too!
