I can't say for you however, I know when I reach the amount I should lose I will just know. I will feel right. I find that if I alternated my calorie intake it helps me get the weight loss train rolling. I will drop to 1200 calories one week then back up to 1500. It works.

The tragedy of life doesn't lie in reaching your goal but lies in having no goal to reach. It isn't a clamity to die with dreams unfulfilled, but its a calamity not to dream.

You may not think you can reach it.
Climb anyway.
You may not think you'll be heard.
Speak anyway.
You may not think you can change things.
Try anyway.

I have lost about 35 pounds. I lost 20 the first year and I wanted to lose 40 this year. However, I think now that goal is unrealistic. I have only lost three pounds in the last six weeks, I have upped my exercise and I think that short circuited the weight loss. I have lost 18 pounds this year, so maybe 30 pounds is more realistic than 40.

You don't have to WANT to - you just HAVE to. *Kat McElroy

Yes, I totally understand. Maintaining will be my goal for a while....forever, however maybe a goal of defining the muscles. I don't know if that one ever stops.

I finally met my overall goal. Now just trying to maintain. I noticed it's not as fun once you don't have to look forward to seeing the weight go down on the scale though. Time for a new goal!

Yes, and no. I reached my 1-year goal of 50 pounds. Currently working on my 2nd 50 pounds, which is proving a much harder task.

I did it! I took an vacation day this past week and set a goal of 600 exercise minutes. I did it! I was really pretty happy to get back to work, for the relaxation! I feel really good about that and have all new respect for people who rack up the BIG numbers every week.

I reached my goal last October, and have been maintaining since.

I know that being active on SparkPeople is the key. Previously I had stuck to diets for a short time only.

Some of you have done amazing jobs! Congratulations to us all emoticon

I have been 2 lbs. away from goal for the last 2 months. Just can't cross that barrier. I'm certainly not thin, but never have been. I am just halfway between the weight recommended by a clinic I went to several years ago and Spark People, but am determined to get to lower weight. I can see maintenance will be very difficult for me at 1200 to 1400 calories.
