I think I am off to a good start on my April goals. (Excluding April 1st, anyway!)

40 Walking Miles
4/2 7.61 miles
4/3 1.38 miles (For time, done in 21 minutes.)

Completed 8.99 miles
To go: 31.01


30 Biking Miles
4/3 3.95 miles (Looks like my bike flat tire problem is finally solved! One can get moving down some of these hills around here quite fast, if you can make it up them!)

Completed 3.95
To Go: 26.05

4 times 5/10Ks including walking in a local 5K race on 4/20

2 walks longer than 3.1 miles
4/2 7.61 miles (My first longer than about 3.2 mile walk in quite awhile!)

4/19/14 Butterflies for Hope 5K for Lupus 39:23.8 (I hurt my back a few days before, and though it was my first official 5K with some jogging, my back hurt, so was very slow.)

Final March Goals and MInutes Achieved

30 miles biking
Inflated and installed new bike tire. Tested bike.
3/9 .32 miles
3/9 2.72 miles ending with a second flat tire. :( I really tried to make sure there was nothing in tire causing it before pumping up the inner tire thingie. Very frustrating! I want my bike back!
Found a briar that seemed to puncture the entire tire. Bought new inner tire and need to inflate and try all over again soon.
3/31 2.88 (Bike back together and tested it out. So far, no flat.)

Was looking for a 5K race in March, but signed up for an April 20th 5K and my 15 year old son has agreed to do it with me! I imagine he will run it and cream this walker. :)

Goal: 75 miles

40 miles completed after the Gusher Half Marathon yesterday........thinking maybe I set my goal too low!! emoticon

As funny as it seems, I am itching to have a run today.....usually I am zonkered after a half....I hope this is a good sign.

I have really been stressing that I have not seen the increase in speed that I would like. Two years ago, the Gusher was my first half marathon. I ran it in 2:57, last year's was 2:45 and this year was 2:30. Considering how far I have come, I guess I should be happier with my results. My ultimate goal is to run one at a 10 min/mile pace. I don't think I can get much faster than that, being 44 and starting running so late in life. Of course, 135 pounds ago, I couldn't walk a mile, much less run one. I just get so discouraged when I can't finish in at least the top half of my age group. Funny how we can get so fixated on what we haven't accomplished instead of reveling in the goals we have reached. I guess that is more true of really competitive people. Sometimes I just need to "Lighten up, Francis."

Inflated and installed new bike tire. Tested bike.

3/9 2.72 miles ending with a second flat tire. :( I really tried to make sure there was nothing in tire causing it before pumping up the inner tire thingie. Very frustrating! I want my bike back!

I am going to try sqeeze 150 miles out of this month with walking and running. I believe I should be able to come up with that this month and beyond.

Have 6 miles behind me so far with a 3 mile run this morning during the sunrise and then 3 miles of walking throughout the day.
