I just joined this group - I'm new to running (about 3 months regularly and a couple of months sporadically before that) and just did my first 5km race. I've signed up for my first 1/2 marathon at the end of May 2009! So finishing that will be my visualization for sure. (Although right now it's probably going to be running without hurting my knee)
We have had lots of physical challenges. How about a mental challenge such as visualization? A good deal of running or any sport is mental. And from what I have found, there is not much training going on in this area, nor is there much written about mental training.
So how about everyone spend a couple of minutes a day visualizing a goal, preferably a running goal, but a non-running goal would work as well. It could be a work goal (promotion, dealing with a difficult person), a personal goal, or a health goal.
Visualization in any form is good exercise to help meet goals.
