do you know what a loser is? a real loser is somebody who is so afraid of not winning they don't even try. -- Little Miss Sunshine
i'm learning that perfecton isn't what matters. in fact, it's the very thing that has the ability to destroy you if you allow it to.
the unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. because it's only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasisies that last. stone crumbles. wood rots. people, well, they die. but things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on. -- Chuck Palahniuk
you hide behind your computer screen, and i might hide behind my music, and she hides behind her sports. but the truth is, we all have something that we're hiding behind, and maybe we should stop running for cover. because what's going to happen when those things can't defend us anymore?
while trying to grasp things we desire, the things we think will make our lives better: money, popularity, fame... we ignore what truly matters. the simple things like friendship, family and love. the things we probably already had. -- One Tree Hill
what is family? they were the people who claimed you. in good, in bad, in parts or in whole, they were the ones who showed up, who stayed in there, regardless. it wasn't just about blood relations or shared chromosomes, but something wider, bigger. we had many families over time. our family of origin, the family we created, and the groups you moved through while all this was happening: friends, lovers, sometimes even strangers. none of them perfect and we couldn't expect them to be. you can't make any one person your world. the trick was to take what each could give you and build your world from it. -- Sarah Dessen
habits are so hard to break, but it would be a shame to stop now that i've started making such good mistakes.
i'm everything i am today because you loved me.
i really wish people wouuld stop asking me how i am. they should know by now that the answer is "i'm fine." and i'm getting really tired of lying all the time.
and she's just the kind of girl that doesn't say very much. but when she does, it means a lot.
it's a lot easier to be lost than found. it's the reason we're always searching and rarely discovered -- so many locks, not enough keys. -- Sarah Dessen
high school is like a spork: it's a crappy spoon and a crappy fork, so in the end it's just useless. -- John Mayer

Leonardo's Mona Lisa is just a thousand smears of paint. Michelangelo's David is just a million hits with a hammer. we're all of us a million bits put together the right way. -- Chuck Palahniuk
life is like an hourglass. sooner or later, everything hits the bottom. and you'll just have to be patiant and wait for someone to turn around.
but sometimes, we're so focused on finding our happy ending, we don't learn how to read the signs. how to tell the ones who want us and the ones who don't, the ones who will stay and the ones who will leave. and maybe a happy ending doesn't include a guy, maybe....it's you, one your own, picking up the pieces and starting over, freeing yourself up for something better in the future. maybe the happy ending is just moving on. or maybe the happy ending is this, knowing after all the unreturned phone calls, broken hearts, through the blunders and misread signals, through all the pain and embarressment...you never gave up hope. -- He's Just Not That Into You
as long as the music's loud enough, we won't hear the world falling apart.
i will never forget that the only reason i'm standing here today is because somebody, somewhere stood up for me when it was risky. stood up when it was hard. stood up when it wasn't popular. and because that somebody stood up, a few more stood up. and then a few thousand stood up. and then a few million stood up. and standing up, with courage and clear purpose, they somehow managed to change the world. -- Barack Obama
you cry but you don't tell anyone that you might not be the golden one, and you're tied together with a smile but inside you're coming undone. -- Tied Together With A Smile; Taylor Swift

your life is defined by its opportunities. even the ones you miss. -- The Mysterious Case of Benjamin Button
if we could decide who to love, it would be much simpler and much less magical.
i think life should be more like TV. i think all of life's problems ought to be solved in 30 minutes with simple homilies, don't you? i think weight and oral hygiene ought to be our biggest concerns. i think we should all have powerful, high-paying jobs, and everyone should drive fancy sports cars. all our desires should be instantly gratified. women should always wear tight clothes, and men should carry powerful handguns. life should be more glamorous, thrill-packed, and filled with applause, don't you think? -- Calvin & Hobbes
sometimes, when you keep patching things up over and over again, all you have left are the patches. and you forget about what you had underneath.
i should hate him for the way that he's treating me, but i don't. i wish i did. but maybe that's what real love is. not hating someone when you have every reason to.
live by the sun, love by the moon.
