I totally agree! It's the "little things" that add up!

I love your, not parking in the closest spot at the store. I always always use to drive around waiting for the perfect close spot so that I didn't have to walk farther to get into the store. Now I park farther away, or even in the back, and say to myself "yeah, I work out!" as I walk towards the store. Haha.. Silly to workout for 1-2 hours a day, and then wait and search for a good parking spot. I can handle the few extra steps! :)

Eating breakfast is still something I struggle with. I try to drink a protein shake so that I am at least getting the calories to get my metabo going! It helps when I work out in the morning, because then I know I need the extra calories in my belly!

Good Luck to you!

Check it out!

It's the little things that add up, so I am working on little habit changes that I can keep for the long-term.
- Eating breakfast
- Not parking in the closest spot so I add a few extra steps
- Not letting myself put junk food in my shopping cart
- Wearing more flattering clothes so I stand tall and have good posture instead of slouching
- Visiting SparkPeople every day!
- Tracking my food... because if I don't want to admit to all of you that I ate it, I am a lot less likely to eat it.

Mine is to really push though October and see what I can manage to shake off. I did well in July and basically just floated through August and September. October is a new month to work hard in and when it is over I will step on the scales to see what effect it has had.

My challenge for some time now has been to overcome the effects of all the medications I'm taking. Some of them give me an appetite, most of them make me tired, one of the meds keeps me from getting my heart rate up.

My challenge is to keep exercising at the same pace. I have felt less than motivated with a lot of dizziness and feeling out of sorts lately. I keep exercising anyway but have had some days of less than full output.
I am in the BLC Winter Challenge and am the co-leader for the Kiwi team so I am going to focus on making myself be an example for my team.
Goal is to lose another 10 pounds through this challenge so by Feb 11, 2011 Hopefully much more because my goal is to be much lower by March 2011.

It's now Oct.2. I met my goal to lose ten pounds
in SepTENber.
Now for October = Walktober
my challenge is to walk 50 miles and lose 2 pounds.
I don't expect to lose a lot of weight this month. I WILL maintain my weight loss by walking.

I have also given up soda. It can't be healthy - not even the diet stuff.. (especially the diet stuff)

My one time September challenge is to lose ten pounds in one month. This goes with my challenge to exercise with my Richard Simmons' Low impact step aerobics tape every morning. . EVERY morning.
I know I can't expect to lose ten pounds EVERY month, but I know I can do it this month.

I gave up diet Mountain Dew and soda pop a three weeks ago come Saturday evening. I learned that sodium and potassium benzoate (commonly found in most soda pops) if combined with citric acid (Vitamin C) forms benzene, which is a carcinogen, but worse to me - it is an industrial solvent! I poured the last half of my glassful down the drain. Mountain Dew contains all three of the items, plus I liked to mix it with orange juice anyway, not a good idea.

I did break down and have a can of diet Hansens Tangerine and Lime, knowing they manufacture their products to a higher standard, but that was a one shot deal. I was going to have a retro Mountain Dew with real cane sugar as my farewell to soda drink, but after the bit about the benzene...

What personal challenge(s) have you set for yourself?

this can be a weekly challenge, a monthly challenge, a yearly challenge, or even a life long challenge you have set for yourself.

I recently became a Vegetarian (June 1st, 2010). My goal is to become a Vegan by the first of the year! I want to find out if I feel overall healthier by taking out the meat! So far so good! But I do miss chicken! :)
