I watched an interesting video today. It is on You Tube at:

This is about subconscious benefits syndrome. This is when we subconsciously do not want to change something that consciously we do want to change -- like losing weight. She give a way to get rid of this.

Basicially you tap on the side of the hand (KC) and say "Even though I do not want to let go of _______, I completely and deeply love, forgive, and accept myself." Do this 3 times before you tap on what you want. An example:

Even though I do not want to let go of eating frequently and mindlessly, I completely and deeply love and forgive and accept myself. 3 times on KC

Even though I eat frequently and mindlessly, I completely and deeply love and forgive and accept myself. 3 times on KC

Then on all the point:

I eat only at mealtimes and my planned snack times.
I eat consciously and really enjoy every bits.
I have no more desire to eat after 7:30 at night.
I eat slowing and savor my food.
I so enjoy my food that I eat less.

I love the script for enjoying exercise, and plan to use it.

I've been all over the internet, looking for ways to do the scripting. I'll take something I like and then revise it so it sounds like "me".

For now, I have been printing them off and reading them as I do the tapping. That seems to work pretty well.

I have a long way to go to get where I want to be. and I've tried many different things, including a stint with a hyponotherapist and several "guided meditation" tapes. Which I actually still use occasionallyh, though they are on the old audio cassets. But those are more from the "positive" aspect, so this seems to be different.

Script for Enjoying Exercise

Even though I do not feel like exercising now, I completely and deeply love and accept myself. TWICE

As you tap the points

Exercise is fun
Exercise is enjoyable
Exercise will give me more energy
Exercise will make me feel better
So I will enjoy exercising
Doing my exercises is being good to my body
Dosing my exercises is being good to myself
So I will enjoy Exercising
I love to exercise
I will make time to exercise
Exercise will be a priority
Exercise makes me feel wonderful
Exercise is one of my favorite things to do

If you still don’t feel like exercising tap as many times as necessary and change the first statement to:

Even though I STILL do not feel like exercising now, I completely and deeply love and accept myself. TWICE

As you do this tapping script you may find that some of the statements work better for you than others. Often I just pick one and tap the entire way through on it—try I love exercise or exercise is fun.

A script to be satisfied with your chosen meal:

Before you eat do the following script.

Even though I am concerned that I will not be satisfied when I finish this meal, I completely and deeply love and accept myself. TWICE

As you tap on each site:

This meal will satisfy me.
I will be satisfied physically.
I will not be physically hungry.
I will be satisfied emotionally.
I will not be emotionally hungry.
I will feel comfortable full and content.
I will be physically full and content.
I will emotionally comfortable and content.

After you eat if you are not completely comfortable and content, do the following script as many times as necessary for you to be completely comfortable and content.

Although I have eaten a healthy and satisfying meal and am not completely content, I completely and deeply love and accept myself. TWICE

As you tap an each site:

The meal I just finished has satisfied me.
I am satisfied physically.
I am not physically hungry.
I am satisfied emotionally.
I am not emotionally hungry.
I feel full and content.
I feel physically full.
I feel emotionally content.


For subsequent rounds of this script, change the initial statement to:

Although I have eaten a healthy and satisfying meal and am STILL not completely content, I completely and deeply love and accept myself. TWICE

When I tap, my script is really simple. I find it easier if I make it quick and easy.

First I tap on the side of my hand and state the problem twice also saying that I completely and deeply love and accept myself.

Then using just one or two positive statement, I tap through all the points.

Next I do the 9 steps and then tap through all the points again.

Some of the scripts I have read seem so complicated, I would get confused about what I was targeting. If I find that the issue that I am tapping on is complex, I break it down and tap on each piece on its own.

I'm big fan of Dr. Carol Look - I like the way she addresses the negative and adds positive affirmations to the EFT session.

Another of my favorites, Carol Tuttle, points out to always make your positive affirmations in first tense. If you place your positive affirmations in the future tense (Example: I will be happy when I am thin) your mind will place it in the future: One day I will be happy and thin - not now.

So present tense is most powerful. Especially the phrase "I am" is very powerful, she says.
You English speaking people are lucky because you have the possibility to build a sentence with "I am" very easily.

"I am feeling thin"
"I am feeling safe"

I especially like this affirmation:
"I behave like a thin person now because inside I am already thin."

Precise - present tense - powerful
