I don't hang on this thread much - but to tell the truth, I have not hung anywhere on spark for a spell

May all the shame be healed. May you each know the love the universe has for you!
May all the pain find new and better expressions. May your bodies release the pain and may joy flow!

I'm choosing to use tapping for focus today. It's a Saturday and eating can go a bit, shall we say, astray? I AM going on my C25K training run and have lots of work overflow to do -- so, I'm tapping, most likely all day to refine and maintain focus.

I'm working on my personal peace process. Also some physical aches. Mostly though I just tap without words when some feeling or emotion comes up. I find myself taking bathroom breaks at work and tapping there.

ONICAM, I have heard you say a few times that you are stuck with prioritizing. Sounds like you have a lot on your plate and you don't know where to start.

Would you like to know how others have dealt with that kind of thing? I have felt that way from time to time, sometimes just being so overwhelmed by it all that I'm in tears and completely unable to do anything. One thing I have tried once I learned EFT was to stay in that feeling, and tap. If you have a tapping points picture, use it or just tap whereever you feel for however long you want to stay on a point.

Say things like...
My schedule is SOOO busy
I am feel SOOO stuck with prioritizing
I don't even know where to start
I have SO MANY things that I need to tap on
They are all important
I don't want to carry them around anymore
But I don't even know where to start with them
I never get completely over any of them
and I just have to carry them around
I don't know how to prioritize
I want to work systematically
but one thing reminds me of something else
and something else
and something else!
SOOO many things I have to deal with

...and keep on saying whatever comes up to you in that moment while you are tapping. If you feel strong emotions (I tend to cry a lot) you can stop talking and just tap and feel.

Once the initial emotions are out, then start tapping on all your points again and just say things like...
I release this stuckness
I let it go
I release and let it go
I release and let it go
release and let it go

then wrap the fingers of one hand around the other wrist and take a deep breath and say PEACE

(repeat as needed, until you finally feel Peace)...

Hope this helps,
Peace!
Kathy :)

My Therapist who does EFT with me had me write a peace list. We work on that each time I see him. Meanwhile I should be doing more on my own, although I don't tap on myself nearly as much as I should. I had a really bad car accident in 2011, and the first thing I worked with my therapist on is driving anxiety. I still have a little sometimes but it's so little as compared to 2 months ago when I first started seeing him, that it's truly amazing!

Amanda, I find driving to be a good place to tap. Sometimes I tap on the face and chest points, but just as often I will tap the sides of each finger on the steering wheel or arm rest. It helps calm me down if I'm feeling stressed, and I don't always even have words when I do it.

A quick relief issue I've tapped on is fear that comes up when driving. I can get very nervous when other cars are too close or come at me from the side (various issues involved, and I can actually get very frightened, even panicked). Twice on Friday after work, once on the freeway, once on a street, my fear response kicked in while driving, and without saying anything the first time, just tapping the points (except for under arm--too awkward), the second time just repeating a Louise Hay affirmation "I am safe and all is well." I was able in both cases to calm down pretty quickly, and that was cool.

Just read lisa's and Amanda's posts, about overwhelm.I feel the same, but when i eventually get started, it becomes easier to become effective.
Also, i can relate to the toss between staying awake and getting up to make a script.
Glad that you fell asleep soon after, Lisa.

"Overwhelm" is one of the things I most often tap on. And as you say--I don't necessarily release it all--but it gets me to where I can focus on where to start. And once I can start, the rest sort of falls into place.

I had terrible insomnia last night. At one point, I reminded myself that I probably should tap on it. But it seemed like too much work, ya know?? Like tossing and turning was easy?? Somehow, as soon as I started putting together the script of what I *would* tap on... I fell asleep. :-)

I have to admit, I don't really care for the title of this thread. I can make progress on an issue without necessarily clearing it out completely, especially in a single tapping session. Oh, well. This is what I tapped on today (copied from another team posting):

The apartment is looking better. I actually did some tapping early this morning on the overwhelm I was feeling about so much needing to be done. That helped me get calmed down so that I could get started. I got the laundry done and put away, and have been chipping away at some of the bigger messes, and feeling successful. I really love that tapping!

Even though I'm resisting taking good care of myself, I deeply and completely love and accept myself.

Even though I'm resisting taking good care of myself, I choose to be naturally slender.

Even though I'm bingeing again, I choose to acknowledge that there is positive intent in my actions.

Any of that ring true?

Actually, one of my biggest issues with stuckness... is not knowing for sure if I'm stuck--or if I'm hanging out in a really good spot, enjoying (and maintaining) what I've gained so far.

So I guess what I really need to release is the *fear* that I am stuck. And perhaps that feeling that if I'm not pushing, pushing towards some goal, I'm not good enough.

We came back from vacation yesterday, and I had a headache that I tapped away including any stress from travel and eating unhealthy food. Love how tapping works and reveals subtle things I didn't realize were creeping into my subconscious.

Yesterday I was really, really angry about this new school information system that the board is putting into place (my 4th system) and that I had to go into a workplace that made me very sick (poor air quality and room sprays) In the morning I tapped about how angry I felt and it was released that I felt calm and peaceful about the whole process. It is what it is and it is what my employer wants us to use. I still got sick through the day but it didn't seem as awful as the first day.

I was really impressed with yesterday's result as well with the first tap after a long time away over my sugar addiction and how much it has eased since. I believe it has moved down from like a 15 down to a 4. I think I need a sign that says - Don't stop tapping! emoticon

I went to a Level 3 training yesterday and today. I connected with important things -- and I connected with "the weight" of my family pain and dysfunction -- and I have a profession where clients drop a load-- anyway, the thing is, I have recognized it, tapped on it, and I don't have to hold on to that weight anymore.

My morning tapping is going to be on this topic. I don't have to cushion or protect or hold on to the weight of all that stuff!

I haven't tapped for a while--but today I could tell I needed it. I had that empty feeling that kept pulling me towards the kitchen. And even though I didn't eat, it was a struggle.

I had a few chores to finish up before I settled down to take care of ME. So I decided to listen to an IOWL podcast at random. It was one of those where every other line seemed to be related directly to me. At some point she brought up EFT as a way to deal with Life, without resorting to food. And the scripts she was suggesting were SO close to what I needed, that I just went along with it. My reaction was SOOO strong at the beginning, but the emotion was released before I was close to finishing the sequence. It was like magic...

I can't even remember the exact wording, but it was related to feelings of being a fraud, of having people figure out I'm not good enough. Kind of related to last time, for that matter, with fear of failure.

Though last time I posted, I *did* actually publicly fail. I've got a similar situation coming up on Saturday, and I feel soooooo ready for it. See, there's this thing called *practice* that's really good to do before you have to get up in front of people and say stuff! LOL!

Accepting that I screw up sometimes.

I'm working in general on facing my fear of failure, of realizing that making a mistake (even in public) doesn't mean I have to quit--it means I need to figure out what to do next time. Today I was in a position to do just that--publicly freeze, but then pick up and go on.

So I released some of the immediate reaction--I'm sitting with some of the residual to see where I want to go with it. What I want to process, and what I want to release.

Accepting my life as it has gone so far.

After all, there are challenges in every path; I learn a lot on each path that I take; my sorrows have brought both compassion for others and discernment about who to befriend, into my soul.

Judy, here's how I dealt with a difficult colleague recently:
www.sparkpeople.com/mypage_public_jo
ur
nal_individual.asp?blog_id=4663553

The mental imagery really helped me to take care of myself and not worry about (or get annoyed about) him.

When you let go of the judgement, what are you replacing it with? some other feeling towards the same person? A feeling of calm for yourself? What do you want instead? You might find it easier to let go when you know what's going to fill the vacuum....

I released some fears and worries about a talk I'm giving... in April.

While I was tapping, a whole bunch of sub-issues came up, that actually gave me sort of an action plan for what I can do to make sure that the talk goes well. (And also a list of other issues I can tap on in the near future.)

It's the beginning of my day. I didn't sleep well, because of a major windstorm. I think I'll try tapping on energy levels.... Haven't worked out the exact script yet.

We don't have enough 'wise woman' expectations and traditions to embrace aging. It's gonna happen, but it doesn't have to mean infirmary or being an invalid. Stuff hurts sometimes -- I thought of yoga for hip pain mainly because that's what helped me when I experienced sciatic pain -- which was in my 20's the first time.

Yesterday I tapped on feeling skeptical because the scale is going in the right direction, but I'm still working off what I gained and haven't reduced past this general area (the 160's). On the second round, lots of emotion surfaced. -- wow, I've been working on believing my success, and the emotions complicating that were intense!

I went for a walk last night and was keeping a good pace, but the morton's neropathy stuff in the ball of my foot had been bothering me since yesterday and it was saying hello (that's a thickening of the nerves, causes pain for me but can go to itchy and numbness, don't wanna go there), I did immaginal tapping while walking and it help quite a bit. Rubbing my tight foot afterwards helped too.

Have a great day everybody!

Sorry about the pain, Judy. Hope it clears up soon....

Just did another round or two on difficult people. I can't believe how much it helped.

Just released anger toward my father... and in doing so, realized he acts like he acts because of his feelings of unworthiness. Going to do some surrogate tapping for my father today; got to get these old patterns removed from my family tree.

Check the thread called world summit, as I think there are still scripts there. The 9 gamut can help pull down intense emotion. Just keep nibbling away at "the stuff" -- I think I would suggest rounds for the physical needs, emotional needs and for the history -- it's something that you can split up through the day. What I'm trying to say is, you can work on current behaviors and current choices without going into the deep stuff, but giving regular attention to the deep stuff -- in a year's time (or much, much less), all that will be history that won't trigger emotion anymore!

Is anyone else still here? I'd love to hear from all of you and know how you're incorporating EFT. I started tapping for my food cravings (sugar/junk food addictions) today and negative emotions attached to it came up. It was hard work today and it started with food cravings which went from a 10 to an 8 but I must have done dozens more on the old negative stuff that came up which was more successful. Anyone have any scripts or shortcuts for stuff attached to food issues and creating a healthy lifestyle?
