That's a good idea. I guess I have unintentionally done that too. 4 years ago I lost almost 60 pounds and kept it off. It took me a year to accomplish. This winter I gained 20 back. So now I'm trying to lose 30 to put me at a new low (for recent history anyway...way back when I was a skinny little thing).

I have been setting my goals in doable bites. My actual long long term goal was so big it was discouraging (90 pounds). It seems to help me to achieve little goals and keep moving the target. if I look ahead too much I get discouraged.

I know right! Losing weight when on the road is nearly impossible so staying even or losing anything is amazing! Good Job! I lost 3 pounds on my 3 week trip.

I just got back from a trip to visit my boyfriend. 2 days of driving and eating on the road, and three days eating his good cooking. I count it as a win that I actually was able to lose a half pound this week, with all that. I started Advocare challenge today, and will be eating lots of fruits and veges this month.

I have just returned from my 3 week trip. I will weigh in tomorrow. I know I have been progressing since January but I hope I didn't gain any back. I find the scale is a powerful motivator and I've missed it.

I just started to lose again, and I am doing well with that...3.3 pounds last week, and I weigh tomorrow, so we will see. I'm trying to eat something nutritious in the morning, and add more fruits and veges in. I could be doing better with that.

I'm also trying to get my paperwork organized. Not doing so well there.
Have been doing lots of artwork, so I'm feel good about that one.

My last post on this message thread was almost a year ago. After that post I gained 5 more pounds, but I'm happy to say that I have lost around 13 pounds (again!) since June 1 of this year.
So yes, I'm progressing again -- although I've been at a little bit of a plateau for the past three weeks. But I'm not going to let that get me down. I WILL get over this hump and lose more weight!

I hope you get relief for your hip, Carol. It's pretty perplexing to move a lot with a bad hip.

I went for a back check and my dr. was pleased with where I am 30 months post-surgery. Apparently most people my age after this surgery (17 levels fused) just kind of turn into couch potatoes. I didn't do that, but neither am I a marathon goddess.

I still don't walk upright well due to pressure on the sciatic nerves - both sides. And standing up is tricky - I learned I must not be holding a baby, because I have a tendency to throw whatever is in my hands when that spasm hits. The dr. wrote me a script for physical therapy - said getting my core stronger still will help the sciatic nerves. I don't see how, but whatever...

And on the art front, a friend from church challenged me Sunday to "make something" this week. I guess I can't let him pull ahead of me...

March makes for a great challenge month. At least I feel challenged to change myself...

I mostly worked on an art project and de-cluttering. I too wasn't much for dieting or exercise. I have the excuse that it was cold and miserable outside. LOL I am going to see the doc next week and try to find out what is wrong with my hip. That should help.

I find February to be a very constricting time. I know it's all in my head, but I just want to be a turtle and hibernate in that month. And usually, I get sick at least for a week in Feb. so my pity party blows my diet right out of the water - exercising and recordkeeping, too.

What did you advance in? I worked on relationship issues more. And organization. But now that March is here, I feel like moving more and staying away from food. emoticon

It's all in the right direction. I just want bigger steps!
