I too have problems at the moment eating hard veges..not possible
Had my top teeth out last week ( put a prothese in straight away??) and for 4 days had to liquidize my food and sip like soup.. yuk!!! all mixed up together..
I had fought the gum decay since i was diagnosed with diabetes.. it finally beat me
I was doing so well with the nuts and fresh veges and feeling like i was achieving..so right now i have to have mashed potatoes and mashed veges and mashed meat ( thats so hard to do, and i have been eating custards instead with yogurt for my protien, i know its not ideal but am still experimenting)..
i posted help on the staff message board and have had quite alot of great ideas like to make my own nut butter, and food choices.. I'm not there yet as i have my pregnant dd here who has diabetes in her pregnancy aswell so at the moment putting her first...
I'm pretty upset that i have to eat more potatoes than i wanted but I'm trying to keep the portions as low as pos..
I do eat sweet potatos but they are too expensive to go compleyely ... I have managed to eat soft rice since yesterday but really slowly haha..
My dentist say's it will take about 4 months for my gums to heal so i will have to do this for a while...
Just a tip Fancy, try to soak your chicken in lemon juice, lime or vinegar before cooking.. It helps keep it tender.. actually i do this with all meats to tenderize...
I've been making alot of chicken soup lately aswell and i managed to eat the chicken as it gets really soft..
I bought some (chinese taher) ( a small earthy potato like veg) yesterday to put in my beef soup instead of potato, my dd gave me some money to get it.. its from the potato family and is less carbs so im giving it a try..
I'm not able to post my bs as i cant afford the strips but im due for my 3 month in the hospital in a few weeks so im curious how thats gonna be since the 2 weeks of too much carbs...
