I am glad you found something that works for you, that is SO cool!...

...but 30 grams all at once? Not this kid! I have some problems with my digestive tract (colon cancer in remission for going on two years) and if I had that much fiber all in one meal, I'd be in trouble! LOL

I am on a high fiber diet (I have a prescription for Benefiber! True! LOL) but I have to spread my fiber intake throughout the day to help all my meals MOOOOVE--without constipating-- so the benefiber comes out six times a day. Because I eat six meals a day. Small ones. Lots of produce and a tiny bit of protein. LOL

I'm also on a renal diet now instead of a diabetic diet, which means there are a lot of veggies I can't have much of... I've said it before and I'll say it again:

It's a good thing I enjoy a challenge! emoticon

I try to keep things at breakfast simple. Most days, it's toast with peanut butter. About twice a week, I'll have an egg (dr says watch the cholesterol or I'd eat them every day!) and a piece of toast or fruit. Now and then I'll splurge and have a quarter cup (dry) of oatmeal with a half cup of raspberries and a half dozen almonds, and sometimes it's a cup of strawberries with almonds or coconut. Not very often though, it can be a spiker at times!...

I LOVE cottage cheese, and used it all the time--it's a great idea, really, even all by itself it has a good balance of carbs and protein and fat--but now with the renal stuff... let's just say, I've gotten very picky about how I use milk products. It has to be worth using up the one serving a day I'm allowed...

So when you find something like this that works for you..

ENJOY, people!

Kathy emoticon

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL

Life comes in specific increments, which we receive as a gift of one moment at a time. That's why it's called

Some of my breakfast choices are: 3/4 cup of Cheerios, 3/4 c. (or less) of skim milk. 1 boiled egg (or 2 boiled egg whites), small amt. of fruit (1/2 apple - if I am being v. good sometimes the whole apple) or 1/2 banana. Others morning I eat the child size cup of yogurt (about 1/2 cup) with a piece of whole wheat toast (with sugar free jelly or spray on butter. Some mornings I at about 2-3 T. of oatmeal with spray on butter and 1/2 c. milk, small piece of fruit. Some mornings I may have a small piece of baked salmon with toast, red bell peppers, toast and coffee. As you can see I don't eat same menu every single morning.

I use oat bran, cottage cheese and sweeten it by cooking 1/2 banana in it. I use microwave so if you use a micro this is my breakfast and evening snack go to meals its always in my tracker ,

If I eat something different for breakfast I just remove and put in what i did eat.
Night time I do the same microwave oat bran always it keep my FBS down.
RECIPE
1/4 cup oat bran from health food store/
!/2 cup water
!/2 banana in slices.
Cook this in microwave safe bowl for 2 minutes on high.
remove from the oven and add 1/4 cup LOW fat cottage cheese -we need some fat.
2 tablespoons ground flax seed meal
Stir it well and tell me if you like it.
You can sub banana for berries, just track them please.
This stays with me till lunch time. I eat the same meal at night
All ingredients are in your tracker.

I used to have high FBS every morning I eat this last thing at night and I am usually under 100.
I do my Cardio at night, it helps me sleep then i eat this and sleep 8 hours.
A1c went fro 8.8 last week 5.5 and off medications for a year
I hope this helps.

F-Factor has a variety of products that are high fiber. I found it locally at grocery. I also did a search online and found it available there.

The fiber-one I found at the local store right next to the regular cottage cheese. It has something like 7 carbs and 5 grams of fiber. That had me trying it and I loved it. A serving is 1/2 cup, but with the fiber I use a full cup. Its stil under a 300 calorie breakfast and I'm trying to lose weight so trying to pack in the full benefit to everything I eat.

I would also like to know what the F-factor is. Is fiber one cottage cheese a combination of the regular fiber one cerial with cottage cheese? This breakfast sounds delicious.

I discovered the Fiber one cottage cheese that has fiber added. I also discovered F-Factor High Fiber Skinnys, and I love blueberries...so........... for breakfast I have
1cup Fiber One cottage cheese
1/2 cup of the F-Factor
1/2 cup blueberries

This combination hasn't spiked me at all, and I'm getting dairy, fruit (yummmmm) and all my fiber requirements for the DAY (30 gms) all for breakfast! My BS was 106 at 1 hour this am and I doubt it will go much higher. This has been a very filling breakfast for me and I feel like I'm getting something decadent (I use stevia to sweeten it if I choose a sweeter morning)
