When I didn't have insurance and didn't have any insulin, my A1C got up to about 14... and I had an insulin reaction if it dropped into the 200s... yes. it's scary! It isn't necessarily how low it goes, but how far and how fast it falls!

You may have to take a glucose tablet or two and wait for twenty minutes... and yes, do call your doctor!

"The real secret of success is enthusiasm..." thanks, Walter P. Chrysler. I believe it. That's what I want in my life--to give my imagination a chance, to live with energy and enthusiasm!

Ralph Waldo Emerson said 'Life belongs to the energetic.' But you don't have to be frenetic and hyper--some energy is quiet and steady, like a heartbeat... and that works too! LOL

Life comes in specific increments, which we receive as a gift of one moment at a time. That's why it's called

My bro-in-law just had a stroke because he's ignored his type 2 diabetes for the past 10 years. BS in the hospital was 430 so they've put him on Lantus and now he's feeling low blood sugar symptoms even though he's in the low 200s.

As others have told you, if your body was used to running a bit higher, even a 90 can feel like a low while you adjust your threshold.

Good luck!

This feeling is what drove me to the doctor back in Sept, where we discovered my high blood sugar level. Now I say high, but it was an A1C of 6.1, so not awful (yet) Even with closer control it hasn't gone away, so I will be discussing it and what it may mean with my doc next week. Thanks for the support everyone...

If you usually test higher it could be a reason, if it continues I would call my doctor or diabetic educator

Hyegeek, thanks, that is what I was thinking and since I eat pretty regularly (albeit a low cal diet--docs direction) and eat snacks I have had these nearly daily. I've thought it might be the lower than body is used to thing, so you are just confirming what I thought. I do eat something at those times just to feel better. I hate the gag reflex thing....

If your body is used to higher blood sugar levels, reaching a normal level will feel low. The good news is your body will get used to it if you simply keep your sugar well controlled.

Why would I feel symptoms of hypoglycemia when my blood sugars are in the 90"s? This seems to be a pattern.. sweating, nausea,light-headed, shakey....whats up with that? I test during these times and I'm usually in the 90's when it happens. I have theories, but would like to see what ya'll think....
