I take insulin every time I eat, and I have five or six small meals a day so I'm checking my BG levels every three hours anyway. Since I'm checking so often, I don't bother to check in between regardless of the activity level, unless I feel a bit off. I can usually tell...
I have found, though, that for me the exercise effects can pop up a LOT later than I expect them to, sometimes even not til the next day... so do please keep in mind that everyone is different, and you may need to experiment to find the best time for testing etc.
