TODAY is day 30: I'm exactly at 5,000 (out of 10,000) as of the AM. I can add more tonight but I'm pretty happy as somebody who only started kettlebells RIGHT before learning of this challenge that I did 5,000 in 30 days (with 4 days completely off due to virus). emoticon

Good luck! This is a VERY hard challenge! I'm still mostly using my 15lb and then just a portion with the 25lb but man, I feel it EVERY DAY (and I've had days off!).

I have til 5March to finish and don't know if I'll get much above 5,000.

It sounds like you know what you are doing, but I am afraid to try them. I might get brave someday, but use a small weight.

Thanks for the warning. Since I have a bad shoulder, I'm very careful but when I do it. It's not so much going on in the shoulder, it's hard-core oblique and you shove through the pelvis through ribs (that's where I feel it).

I've done yoga for over 30 years, so it's basically a pyramid with a weight added. I can thank my gurus over the years for that form! emoticon

I have never done that move (bent press), and probably won't as I can't really do windmills either. I think you could injure your back and/or shoulder if your form is not correct.

Anyway, you're right; any ballistic is counted. I use 2-handed swings, a swing/clean/ high pull/snatch combo and figure 8s in this challenge.

I too had to downsize to a 25 lb. KB. The 35 was taking a toll on my hips and to be that sore everyday was not working for me. I can do 100 to 150 more swings in my workout with the lighter and still feel it just not to the point of muscle exhaustion and soreness I'd been experiencing.

Please clarify......we are counting all ballistics? Any snatch, jerk, clean or swing?

Thanks -- this is something I deal with and it's a tweak, not an injury. I've done worse carrying groceries! I tried something I shouldn't have (turkish getup) is all.

I *am* mental, though, but it's already feeling better, 2 days later and I'm still swinging, just less that I'd planned on.

OUCH! That is something you need to take seriously.

I am no medical expert, but I would have it looked at before you do anymore workouts with your arms, especially any type of shoulder press up.

I would go to 20-25 lb. I have a lot of trouble with the windmill, so I don't even bother trying it anymore. I probably should, but I just gave up on it.

I'll join in but I'm not sure where I'll end up! :)

I'd already asked what you swing and you've given that answer HERE but what would you recommend as the next increment up from my 15lb? (currently it's the only one I have so I'm using it for 1 or 2 handed--windmills are still hard...1-handed and so are Russian twists but I'm needing more for deadlifts and swings...2 handed).

Well, it's probably crazy, but I'll play again, Sharebear. Starting on the 5th and I'll use a 20 lb bell for one-handed and a 26 for two-handed.

I am doing the 10,000 swing challenge this month on another team. Would anyone like to join me?

I have 1350 done so far, and this is the end of the 4th day, so lets me make it by March 4th.

I did this once before, and I am attempting it again. Killer workout, but it produces results in a big way.

I will be using 25lb for one handed swings and a 35 lb. KB for two handed swings.
