I must confess my addiction has grown. I now own a 15 lb kettlebell! I never thought I would be able to do 15, but I bought it and I just completed a 30 minute Amy Bento routine. Wow! What a difference 5 lbs. makes. I felt every move! Loved every minute of it. 15 is a challenge and it takes more concentration. I hope someday to get to 20.

What better way to lose weight!! They say laughter is the best medicine, so keep on tootin'! That happens to me when I try to do situps or leg raises--anything that concentrates on the middle! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I can top that....although this is really embarassing. I was kind of um.....gassy one day and decided to do swings. Thank God no one else was home.

It went something like this: swing....toot.....swing....swing.....toot.
....swing.....toot....swing.....toot laugh....and so on....I was laughing so hard at that point that I couldn't even hold on to the bell. I was laughing my butt off...

still embarassing emoticon

The other night I decided to do Phil Ross's Advanced Russian KB workout again. This time I had 2 10 lb KB to use with his 2 bell routines. I got to laughing so hard at myself trying to do what he was doing: up on hands and toes. lift one bell up, bending elbow. repeat other side. keep legs straight! Then he did the same thing, only he lifted one leg up! So you've got your right hand on the bell and your left leg in the air. Talk about hard! I was so wobbly my bells fell over a few times! My abs got a good workout just laughing at myself!

Last night after work I decided I was going to do The Extreme kettlebell workout I had gotten from DragonDoor. Wow. They should've called this one Kickass! It was an hour long...well actually a little over an hour b/c I skipped the one segment I can't do. That guy was terrific. And I kept up with him! WOO HOO!

Too funny....yeah, it's addicting. I bought two additional bells in the last few weeks. A baby bell @ 10 lbs. for TGU's and a 20 lb. because I had a few things that the 25 is too heavy for but the 15 is way too light. So I go to my lesson the other day and my trainer's telling me how he thinks he can jump me from the 20lb. which I'm using for military presses (high reps)(I can do the 25 but only for limited reps 5-7) to the 25 and even the thirty pretty quickly...and I'm thinking now I'm going to have to start saving for a 30 lb'er....It's like a little family of bells on my living room floor....

I sure as heck can't afford duplicate bells....I'm sticking to one for awhile.

Just don't get ahead of yourself and get hurt, then you won't be able to feed your addiction at all!

No, I didn't change my clothes b/c no one else was there! I'll give a full report of The Firm. Tomorrow I'm buying a second 10 lb so I can do some double time! I have a DVD from Dragon Door--and I can't think of who it is, but he uses 2 bells--big, big bells, very scarwee! And I want to try that! I think I have an addiction!

It's funny, you don't even realize how hard you're working. I had a session with my trainer yesterday and didn't realize how badly I was sweating until I reached back and my hair was soaked....lol.

That's good that you're using other resources. Let us know what you think of The Firm one. Sometimes it takes a day or so for soreness to set in. I'll think I'm out of the woods and then it catches up with me.

Did you change into workout clothes?

No, I have several DVDs from DragonDoor.com and have watched several instructionals by Pavel. I just received The Firm's Kettlebell workout last night in the mail and will be doing that tonight or Saturday. I'm surprised I'm not sore from yesterday!

I set a fan in the room where I went to exercise and opened the window a little so it wasn't too bad. Drinking water helps, too, to keep the sweat smell under control. Of course, nothing does it like deodorant!! LOL

I've often thought of taking a kb to work and working out at lunch. Only problem is then I'd be stinky the rest of the day and since I work with patients all day, that could present a problem.

Good for you for having that much determination! Please tell me you're not relying on Angie to teach you form on anything...hers is questionable at best.

Keep up the good work and congrats on the weight loss!

You are awesome! If 10# is all you can do right now then 10# it is. It is better than I have done all week long. The main point is that you have done something and actually moved through your space with the KB and challenged your body! That is awesome in an of itself. Take some ibuprofen andyou will be fine in the morning. Keep up the work, I need to wrangle my kettlebells out from under the blanket of dust they are collecting! Keep up the good work!!!

And if you don’t have good judgment, forget kettlebells and go take a Pilates class.

I've been swinging these KBs for a few months now and just love the workouts. I sit at a desk all day and most days don't get away til it's time to go to the potty or go home! Today I was the only one there so I took my little DVD player, one of my KB DVDs and at lunchtime, I did a 30 minute KB workout. Wow did that feel good!
I was so inspired that when I got home, I got out my Angie Miller DVD and did 30 minutes of that with my heavier bell. Most people don't consider 10 lbs heavy, but for me, it's past the limit my doctor put me under. He limited me to no more than 5 lbs. but I figure that's 5 lbs per hand!
So, 60 minutes burned a lot of calories. I hope I can move in the morning!
