Not been doing the group challenges yet, but then last night was my first real KB workout bar my initial time test last week. I plan to try and join in for sure this month.

Some of the other challenges would work great for you with swings and getups- have you been doing the group challenges?

One great one is just to try to increase your swings for a certain time period - time yourself today for, say, 5 minutes and see how many swings you can do - then time yourself again at the end of the month You'll be amazed at how much you can increase your swings. And the VO2 challenge can be done with swings. It is a little more complicated so you might just want to try timed swings first. It is really fun to challenge yourself and see how much you can progress with KBs in just a short time. Right now I am working on using a heavier bell. I am not as strong in presses and snatches, but have increased weight on swings, and some other exercises. Turkish getups will take me a long while before I'll be ready to go up in weight.

I just mowed the grass and now need to go get the kids to bed! G'night!
:) Liz

Not totally sure to be honest, I'm talking about all the challanges not just Sid's 100pts a day one. Just looking at the old ones I'm not sure I am ready for a VO2 challange just yet for instance as I am not familiar enough with the moves.

I'm gonna be working on swings and TGU's for the forseeable future. Not quite sure when to introduce the cleans, snatches, presses etc but I figured I'd do that when I was more comfortable with my bells.

Good idea - any thoughts on what you'd like for a beginner challenge? One good thing abotu this challenge was that anyone could do it and just adjust the exercises to their level of experience....

Not sure if this is the right place but maybe a newbie challenge and an advanced challenge as far as the kettlebell workouts go would be cool. Because I'm not doing snatches and cleans yet for example. Just swings and TGU's. We've had a couple of other beginners join as well.

Way to go, Sidney! I know how hard it is to get those 100 points!! I haven't been keeping track of mine these past few days but have been trying to think about specific challenges that will help to get me through July....

My bitter irony of the day is that the scale jumped up on me this morning for no apparent reason, after 3 days at goal. Ugh! I am going to keep staying the course though. I didn't change my ticker but will change it if it is still up tomorrow. Today is a rest day, so I just did a little yoga this morning and am feeling good.

I think my goals for July will be something like this:

*keep defeating my nemesis (binge eating)
*run 5k, 3x per week
*KBs 3x per week
*yoga 3x per week
*rest 1 day per week
*keep logging my intake even if I can't get to the computer while on vacation

Thanks, will do!

Yes, we should each make a list of our own needs and get that sorted. 5hrs sounds good to me, and no, not all KBs either of course.

Well, off to do some Vegan research. Thanks for the tips!!!

Hugs,
Sid

Your welcome Sid, hope it helps out. By the way you can get a free login at www.precisionnutrition.com and read a lot, some of it is paying members only but you should get some good info from the vegetarian boards.

I like Liz's ideas on the x/x goals. Can make it a bit more personalized that way. For instance one of my goals is to walk the stairs at work at least twice a day, I work on the 4th floor and it is silly not to take advantage of that. Another goal is to get in at least 5hrs of exercise per week. For me that is not all kettlebells but it's still something I shoot for. Still trying to figure out how to make the kb's and jiu-jitsu work together without killing myself :)

Thanks for the information Morkai, and the suggestions! I will definitely look into that more. We are happy to have someone join us here as it has been the Liz and Sid show for a long time now emoticon

Liz, good thought on the iron, I didn't consider that before. I don't know which foods have good iron, but that could be part of the problem as when I was a vegetarian in university I was anemic (low iron) then too. I had forgotten about that. I guess too many changes too fast.

I am feeling much genkier today as a result of 12hours of really great sleep. Then as Darren was away all day at aikido I scrubbed down every inch of my kitchen and bathrooms. It was so cathartic and I feel much more positive and ready to get back into action. Some friends were supposed to come over tomorrow, so I wanted the house to be spick and span. They are only stopping by now as something has come up. I am glad as I will we will have the day to ourselves now, even if it just means sitting at a cafe and marking together. So much to do before the end of term and we only have 4 weeks left. I can't wait for it all to be over though!!!

Hugs to you both!

Sidney - how is your iron level? That really has an impact on my energy level and lacking meat sources can make it hard to get enough.

I hope your kb is feeling light again tomorrow! I am SOOOOO tired today. I couldn't figure out why, since I worked out and then just spent the day running errands and at my son's martial arts program - then I remembered the coughing of the sick dog that kept me up all night! We took her to the vet and her cough suppressant is also a tranquilizer - I hope that will mean better sleep for me!

Great to see you here, Morkai! Sid and I have been talking about revamping this challenge. Are there any things you'd like to include in a challenge for July?

G'night everybody - and you are ALWAYS a good friend, Sidney!!

Hi Sid, Ryan Andrews on the Precision Nutrition program is a vegan bodybuilder. He made this post a while back and I dug it up for you:

Here is some info on veggie protein sources....

Protein Powders: Hemp, Rice, Pea (don't like using soy as vegetarians usually get enough from foods)
Protein foods: Seitan, Tofu, Tempeh, Soy Burgers, Morningstar Meal Starters, Soy Jerky, Dry edamame, beans (once a day can work, just watch the carbs)
Some fats can be used to bump up the protein at a meal: Almonds, Walnuts, Flax Meal

Good Website for some protein snacks/bars/powders:
www.veganessentials.com

Another good website for protein food ideas:
www.veganbodybuilding.com

Sample Day:

AM workout
Meal 1: Oats, Flax, Raisins, Pea or Rice Protein Shake
Meal 2: Nutrition Bar (homeade from GN or the Organic Food Bar)
Meal 3: 1-2 soy burgers or a cup of pinto beans, mixed veggies, added fat as needed
Meal 4: Soy Jerky, Cut up Raw Veggies with Hummus
Meal 5: Tofu, Large salad with oil based dressing
Meal 6: 1/2 cup pumpkin, 1 scoop hemp/rice/pea protein powder, a few walnuts

And to add I believe that http://www.trueprotein.com now sells rice and pea proteins for a great price.

Hey Liz, I am glad you have been having such a nice time with your family! emoticon emoticon Nice that you are soon getting away! emoticon

I am sorry that I have been a crappy friend this week. emoticon I have been unmotivated and so tired and low energy. My 8kg bell feels like a 24kg bell. I have no strength or energy to work out. The problem is that I have been going vegetarian and trying to move towards vegan, but I have not yet learned how to balance my food properly yet. I am getting only about 30 grams of protein a day, which I think is the main problem. I have to sort it out because after the things I have read and seen, I can't go back. It makes me gag to even think of eating that stuff anymore.

I like your ideas for our new challenge. One thing I need to include is getting a minimum of 60g of protein a day. Let's change the name and pep it up so maybe others will join in.

We did alright though, didn't we? I hope everything is going well hun. Tomorrow is a new day for me. Back to my motivated, KBing, healthy eating self!!! That's a promise!

Hugs,
Sid

Hi Sidney (and anyone else who might look here and want to join in!). I hope you are doing well and enjoying counting the days to Canada! We leave town for 3 weeks on the 3rd - I have not even been able to think much about it yet, so better get organized!

Anyway, today was another bday part for my son, this one with his friends. I did have a pretty impressive piece of cake, but wisely sent the rest home with someone else! I didn't burn many calories doing it (lazy pace) but certainly had fun rollerskating! I also ran this morning but no kbs today. My total points for the day is about 55. Not terrific but not horribly off the wagon either. Despite the cake, i still stayed in range so am glad about that. We skated in only one direction around the rink and I am already feeling it in my back on that side. Definitely need a little yoga before bed....

80 for me today - I hope you had a good one! I did end up lowering my goal by two more pounds after, weirdly, another one just seemed to fall off when I hit my goal. We'll see how it goes with maintaining though - time will tell where I am able to maintain confortably. I have been low in my range this week due to busy-ness so will plan to up the calories this next week and see how it goes. Adding those rest days seems to really have helped, too.

Is your back all better? I hope so! Have a great Thursday! We will actually be having another birthday party this week - this one with a crowd of boys after a family celebration over the weekend. Should be interesting!!

One more thought - if we don't come up with a new challenge (and even if we do, of course), we could always work on encouraging more participation on the daily weigh in and workout report thread or something like that. I know some people don't weigh in each day so that may hold them back, but I'd love to see more members reporting in on how they are doing each day....

This is such a great team - I hope we can coax some of the lurkers out to play with us! :)

60 today - not bad for a rest day!

So glad your back is feeling better. Do keep taking it easy!

I did well last night - stayed busy during the junk-y dinner, but as I said, my replacement wasn't exactly totally healthy. It is hard to eat very well when you are eating out of your purse!

Yeah, let's definitely come up with a new challenge for next month. I have liked this one, but have started changing it up a little - for instance I don't always do the walking planks for BWE, but will do regular pushups or try pullups or even sun salutations and count that instead. Let's both think of stuff we'd like to challenge ourselves with and then put them together. I really want to keep working on defeating my nemesis every day though! I have really done well with not binging this month and it has made a huge difference in how I feel physically and emotionally. This challenge has helped.

How about instead of having 100 points, we set a goal for x number of healthy habits a day and choose from a list that we create? (say shoot for 7+ on a list of 10). You know me, always wanting to do less math ;). OK, now that is seeming WAY too similar to what we are already doing... Hmm, we could do weekly goals and shoot for a certain number of KB workouts a week, etc. My brain is feeling a little foggy this morning so I'll have to think about it some more. Let me know what ideas you have also - I'm sure we can come up with something! July will be weird for me - lots of travel - and a particular challenge to stay on the wagon. Is your trip to Canada in August? When I get out of my little world it is hard for me to stay consistent!

I am trying to minimize packing and wondering if I can stand to only take one KB with me. And if so, do I go with my comfort zone, or take a heavier one and potentially not use as much or as well??

OK, gotta go work on my lesson for church tonight. :) Have a great day!! I am planning on a rest day or maybe just a little yoga. We'll both be back at it tomorrow!

Hey, I am feeling much better today thanks to Darren who massaged me for a long time and then I took a hot bath with epson salts and hit the hay early. I tried, but just couldn't do the yoga. Tonight I am resting it a little more and will get back into it on Wednesday.

Kids sure can be draining!!! I hope the Church dinner goes really well and you are able to get through it in a relatively healthy way.

BTW, I was wondering if you would like to do the new challenge for June. It can be another 100 point challenge, or something totally new. What do you say? I am getting a little bored of this one and I think we need to shake it up a little. At the end of the month I will erase this one and you can make the next. OK? If you are too busy or just don't want to do it, let me know and I will think up something else.

Have a great day!!

Hugs and thanks!
Sid

Oh no!! I am so sorry to hear about your back! I usually do my windmills with only one KB (in the upper hand). I hope some yoga will help you get some relief. A hurt back seems to make everything else hurt, too! Ice and/or heat may help, too. I hope you are feeling better soon!

I had a great workout day but was very busy with lots of activities at home and church this evening so didn't have time to eat all my fruits and veggies. I ended up having a bowl of cereal and a protein bar for dinner. Not exactly good meal planning. Usually my dinner includes a salad so that is my guarantee to get them all in. We have church stuff tomorrow and Wednesday so I will have to plan better! I think my total came to 75 points for today. Tomorrow I will rest from kettlebells, and may rest overall. I helped with a kids program tonight and I am worn out (funny how I felt so energized after my KB workouts this morning but then a bunch of kids wore me out -- the actual activity wasn't physically taxing but still drained my energy).

Take it easy on that back--
So sorry you are hurt!

Hey, congrats on your little man's bday! emoticon that definitely calls for cake! Smart move planning your meal first though. I do that too whenever possible.

I did windmills yesterday with my 8kg in the air and my 12kg down, and today I can hardly move! My back is killing me!! emoticon I should have waited for Darren to teach them to me, but instead I watched my Goddess DVD and totally wrenched my back. emoticon I actually have only done windmills a few times, and never with such heavy weight. Usually only with my two 4kg bells. How stupid am I emoticon emoticon

Today I will see if I can fit in my yoga DVD, as I think it might help to stretch my out a bit and loosen me up. That is if I can stand the pain long enough to work through it. What a silly goose I am! emoticon (no geese)

Well, I hope you have a super Monday! More rain for us, but I don't mind it emoticon emoticon

2:22 am - yup, I was fast asleep! :)

Only 65 for me today but a good day. Another restaurant dinner so I got online before to pick my meal and make room for dessert - we celebrated my son's 10th birthday so I had to have a treat! No KBs or BWE today, just a short step video. This week is going to be busy but I hope things will start to settle into somewhat of a routine.

Good luck getting all the marking done! My husband loves Tony Robbins - I haven't seen/read any of his stuff but have heard good things about him. I'm surprised that he is a vegetarian!

Happy Monday!

Hey Liz,

Sounds like you are really having a great weekend and feeling better too! We had a good Saturday, we cleaned the house and did laundry and marking (more to do today) and then we got all dressed up and went out for dinner--no dessert but over ate with my calories and had 3 glasses of wine!

I feel great today all the same, though Darren has a headache. We have been watching some interesting documentaries about the environment and the food industry's impact. Also a very intelligent series about history called Connections as well as lots of Tony Robins seminars. It's great!

yesterday's score is a bit low, but it was a good day all the same. 50 pts

Have a lovely Sunday when you wake up! You are probably fast asleep right now. emoticon

Hi Sidney! I hope you are having a great weekend! We've been really busy but busy having fun. I did a KB video this morning and had a nice walk this evening just as it was getting dark. Haven't had any time to be on the computer so will have to catch up on posts tomorrow. 75 points for today - stayed in range despite decadent dessert at a restaurant today. We got 4 spoons for a huge sundae and this time I didn't hog most of it for myself! (ah, small victories) My husband loves to eat out so this weekend I've just been special ordering everything to keep it healthy.

So cool that you guys are going to get your parents started with KBs - I'll be sure to ROAR if I ever get my husband on board. :)

I'm off to log my swings and presses and then get ready for bed. Have a great Sunday!
Liz

That is really terrific that you are getting your son into them and taking it easy of course. How fun it must be to teach him. When we go home in August Darren and I will be teaching our parents and setting them up with bells too.

As for your hubby, we are all stubborn, but if it helps tell him that I was afraid too because I have a bad knee and shoulder from injuries and over training, but the KBs are actually fixing them. I have had chronic pain in both my Left shoulder (swimming) and knee (swimming and accident) for years now and just thought I had to manage with the pain, but not any more!!!

I agree that my upper body is really getting there, but my belly and thighs still need work. It's coming though. It will all get there eventually!

I am not done yet today, so will post later with my score! Great that you are resting up!

Whoo-hoo! Rest day with 55 points - plys the 20 point bonus for resting two days this week. :)

I hope to be back at it tomorrow. Lots going on over the weekend but will at least get some swings in.

I totally relate to the incredible shrinking bustline. Just be sure to nurse your babies if you have them - then you can have boobs again for a while!

135 pounds of muscle sounds great to me!! I may just have to shoot for that. It is so great to see definition in my arms, but my lower belly and legs are still flab-o-rama. Gotta keep swinging.

My son did a little KB workout today - some face-the-wall squats, box squats, halos, and 10 swings. He was so excited that I let him do swings. We have been working on form up until now. I definitely will need to keep a close eye on it and limit the reps. Fun to have him be so excited about it all! :) I showed my husband a few things with the 35 lb KB. He's a harder sell. He has a bad back and is really reliant on machines (mentally). I keep trying to convince him that he won't hurt his back with good form. I'd love to have the whole family usisng KBs.

OK, I'm rambling and need to start heading to bed. Have a great weekend!!

You are rocking! You should post a picture to show us all how fabulous you are looking!

I am pretty sure that when I get to 135 I will move it down to 130 and probably stop there or 128 for the sake of saying I am in 120ville. emoticon I know there is a lot more chub to burn off. I would be happy at 135 if it was all muscle, but it isn't. Not bad though actually--except my bust, which is disappearing. I have never had a small bust in my life and feel really weird about not having it anymore.

For today I am getting an 80--great day on sleep, food, exercise (swim), but no BWE, no KBs, no VO2.

Have a super afternoon! The weekend is here!!!! emoticon

One more to go! :) Then of course I will have the mental battle of whether to stay there or shoot a little lower. I'm trying not to have that talk with myself before I really feel settled at that number.

80 for me again today, although today was an easy day. Just a little with the KB, a short walk for cardio, and lots of running around in the car. Ugh. We have had a busy week but hope to have three fun days before my husband heads out of town again.

I hope you have a great Friday! There are lots of good posts to catch up on with the team - gotta go get reading!

Peace, Liz

psst! tell your brain to look the other way.... emoticon *whispers*

When my scale dips down I change my ticker to get my brain to believe that is what I really am, and it seems to stay down better that way for me. Even if it bounces back up in the back of my mind I am still down, so I don't let it bother me as much.

DId you move it after all? I see only one pound to go! You will be there in the next 11 days no problem!!!

I'm just taking the kids and cheering them on. It is great to have him home.

Gonna go do some press ladders and snatches now - whoo-hoo. (Psst - don't tell my brain this, but the scale said 137 this morning. I am not changing my ticker unless it stays there for a few days. It has been unpredictable lately.).

Here's to more points today for both of us! (Although I will say that even on our down days we seem to be doing pretty well with holding it together. A little pizza for a treat now and then is just fine. As we say in my house: Three food groups!)

Hey, I had a low day too! 60-no exercise and a small slice of pizza after work.

It must be tough to have him gone so much! I can't stand to be away from Darren and hate the days that we don't work together! You must be happy to have him back. Enjoy him!!! Are you playing baseball or taking your kids?

Get some good rest tonight!

Only 55 today - but I intentionally conserved calories to save up for a milk shake - which of course put me over on junk! Not a bad day over all, but no KBs (or BWE) so not many points. My husband has been out of town for a long while and is back home for several days before having to go again so we will be busy this week. Just got home from the ball park... games every night this week.

I am tired!

I hope you have a great Wednesday!

way to get that extra 5 in!

I am at 90 because I got my workout in --late though! Had Starbucks, so not perfect!

We went to the shop and loaded up again. Organic is expensive, but with just 2 of us it is worth it!

Sorry hun, gotta get to bed! Chat more tomorrow!

I definitely tend to have less of an appetite in the summer - and am busy and outdoors a lot so fewer opportunities to just park in the kitchen and munch which is good. I am frustrated right now by an upward blip on the scale despite being at the low ned of my range and really working hard. I didn't even enter it for my ticker because I am hoping it'll be gone tomorrow! I also have to double check my range to make sure I am not eating under.

Those veggie burgers sound good!! I hope you are getting caught up on everything. I am putting off my one summer work project and have tons of house work to catch up on. We have a fun but busy week coming up so gotta get to it!

85 points for me today - only aspartame and no BWE took points away. Maybe I will go ahead and do some walking planks just to add in those other 5 points!

:) Peace, Liz

Edit: Did some BWE - so 90 points for today!! Whoo-hoo!

I did and I hope you did too! I didn't work out today even though I planned to do it. Lagging behind in marking and cleaning.

I cooked these amazing vegie burgers today from Amy's Kitchen which are all organic. They were so delicious!!! And SOO filling!!! I feel stuffed!! I am feeling very full lately on a lot less food than I usually eat, so I have been over eating a little and making my portions too big. Darren thinks it is because it is getting warmer--I think it may also be that I don't need as much now I am losing a little. My appetite is shrinking either way, which is good--more money for shopping!! emoticon

I ate way over my calories today without realizing it until after putting in my numbers. emoticon oops!

Tomorrow I will do better. We do our weekly organic shopping trip after work in Kyoto on Tuesdays, and I plan to get more of those burgers! Also some more oatcakes! They were so good and convenient too!

Anyway, I got a measly 65 today. Oh well. Tomorrow is another day to fight!

I hope you have a lovely Monday like we did emoticon

Hey,

BTW, I forgot to say how hard you made me laugh about giving up heel! NEVER!!!
AND I have to say that heels are far better for my health than your aspartame!! Darren says he's mad at you!!! emoticon

Anyway, it's cool that you got the calipers today! 20% fat is WOW!!! I am jealous! NO WAY are you anything close to 32%, so throw that out!
I can't believe that you have been using the print out measuring tape!!! emoticon emoticon that's hilarious!!! You kill me!!!!

This link is for you about aspartame!!!! WATCH IT!!!! BAD GIRL!!!

OK, we are going out for dinner! I am already drinking a glass of wine, my first in weeks, and it is hitting me, so if my post makes no sense that's why emoticon

I got 80 again today, but only light cardio in the morning emoticon

Have a super Saturday and I will catch up with you soon hon!!!

By the way, I got my calipers today - and find info online that there are TWO formulas for doing BF% based on measurements. One has me at 20%, the other at 32%. I'm thinking I'd like to go with 20! I also got a new measuring tape (I've been using the SP printable one and have torn and taped it repeatedly). My measurements were very different (smaller #s!) that what I was getting the with paper tape, so I'm going to start from today to look for changes. I am confused about where to measure my hips though. I consider my hips to be about 3 inches lower than my belly button, but some of the measures ask for the "widest point" which is really more like my butt. Where do you measure your hips? Thanks!

My caliper readings were all over the place ... I need some practice!

Great on the 85! 80 for me today. No KBs, after work I came home and crashed for hours and woke up at 10:30pm. Off to bed again now. Catching up on all the zzzzz emoticon

Have a super Friday, and check your email!!! emoticon I got something on the go that will help both of us keep the fire burning I think.

85 for me - although I barely made the 9 pm deadline. Had a high sodium dinner so curious to see if I am all puffed up tomorrow. I hope you had a great day!

I love that article - Joey has mentioned Lauren Brooks on her page. I think the woman from the other video is different (Crossfit rather than RKC). Both are amazing! I love that there are such great strong women to give us inspiration!!

How are your ankles holding up? How 'bout I give up aspartame when you give up high heels!

Hey,

80 for me today, though no KBs or BWE. All other lights are GO. Got a bit of sleep last night and plan on more tonight. Also cancelled my Friday Japanese lessons for the next few weeks until I catch up. I am so glad tomorrow is Friday and it is a sleep in day until 8am!!!

Off to prepare for classes. Here is a link I stole from Esther's blog and I think it is the same girl as in the video. I haven't finished reading it, just gave it a skim, but it looks great. See what you think!

85 today - still some splenda (it seems like so much of what I eat has it - and I am addicted to sugarless gum!) and no VO2 today. I only did getups for my KB today and am looking forward to a full workout tomorrow. The kids will be finished with school at the end of the week so it will get harder for me to get out and run/walk which is a bummer. It was so nice to get to the park today. I may go for a walk tomorrow while I still can, but don't want to burn myself out on the running. I am just starting to enjoy it ... a little.

Great job on the BWE! I haven't even been trying the one-arm stuff and am content to keep working where I am.

I am so bad in restaurants - you are so strong to resist that dessert. My husband LOVES to eat out and ALWAYS orders dessert (and appetizers for that matter). Sometimes when we are on vacation I will literally leave the restaurant and go for a walk and leave him to eat it while I can't watch. If I stay, I can't resist. OK, I CAN, I just generally DON'T.

I actually like it just as it is here at the Liz and Sid show! emoticon

You are doing a great job! I understand how difficult these things are to break, so I am glad that you are managing to cut the aspartame out slowly and have ditched the coke. That rocks!!

Yesterday I was alright, and resisted my favorite chocolate and ice cream dessert at the restaurant on Saturday. I am a bit behind here, sorry. I think I made it to only 50 yesterday.

Today I was great! My only failing was that I ate M&Ms emoticon
I tried Darren's video of walking plank and could add the push up to it as well, but the one handed knee lift part was too touch still. I will be working on that. It was great though and I surprised myself by doing 20 rounds. Did lots of KBs today too as well as some stretching. Stayed in my calories as well. So, I am coming out to 90 today too!

We are so in sync it is scary!!! Same weight, same points, cool! I love how we are progressing together emoticon emoticon

Have a great Monday! Enjoy KBs with your son!!!

85 for me today - my only KBs were some getups, and only cardio was power yoga (which isn't very cardio but I figure if SP counts it as cardio, I will, too;)) IT felt good to have a lighter day that was not a total rest day. I am trying to work out a schedule where I can do something with KBs almost everyday, but varying the exercises so I dont overdo it.

Totally fine to take the sticky off of here! It has definitely become the Liz and Sidney show, but I like that we are still checking in here.

And I hope I'll be helpful to you guys with leading the team. Thanks so much for thinking of me!

Great job on getting back down - and keep on swinging toward your goal!!!

Hey Liz,

I have been thinking of taking the sticky off this thread as it is just the two of us using it, and have decided to go ahead and do it. We can both still come here, but will have to look in the Motivation and Challenges Forum to find our thread or just subscribe to it.

As you know, Darren and I want Zorbs and you to help out, so I want to open some room with the sticky threads so that you or Zorbs can add some key threads of your own. I hope you don't mind me doing this.

Sorry emoticon

Hey Liz,

Sorry I missed a beat last night! Too tired. You are doing great, but I really wish you would cut the Splenda--have the sugar, it's better!

BTW, I wanted to say how cool it is that you got your son the 4kg KB! It's great that you will get him doing them! What a fabulous investment in his future. He will have so much to thank you for when he is older!!!

Yesterday: 80pts
no exercise, no KB, just a walk, but ate well and am keeping up with my no junk no diet food streak!

I will jog and do KBs today while Darren is at aikido. I also have a lot of marking to get through. If I do it, then next week will be a load off my shoulders and I can get to bed earlier. I really need to. I have gotten more sleep over the past 2 nights and feel so much better for it. Also my weight finally went back down to where I last left off.

Have a great evening and I hope that you consider things over the weekend. We could really use you in terms of motivation and cheerleading. You know as much as I do about these things. After all, we started doing KBs together, didn't we? If you don't want to, it is understandable of course! Do whatever you feel comfortable with!

YOu are amazing, and I just wanted to let you know how important you are to the team and especially to me!!!

Sleep well my friend!

Only 45 for me today - but I feel good about it because I rested today. No cardio, no KBs, no nothin'. A little too much junk and sugar-free (as in fake sugar) stuff but another day of no diet coke.

...too bad shopping for kettlebells doesn't get points!

LOL! 75 again. No KBs. I have serious shin splints today from carrying my new bell in heels emoticon emoticon Also it is majorly raining and I got soaked on my bike ride home. I am so tired and need more sleep, so I am off to be now--only 8pm, but I can't take it any more. Have a super day Liz, thanks for the kind and motivating comments on my blog and all the threads. I really do appreciate it!

I still need to think of the name. When I do, I will post a picture. It has to be a really cool name to go with my 8 kg Gorgo (Spartan Queen from 300). I set the bar high with that and can't think of anything as hardcore in my current state of sleeplessness.

take care hon and keep at it!

75 for me today, too. Diet crap continues, but no diet coke at least! I didn't get enough sleep either, which makes the no diet coke more of a feat.

Can't wait to see a pic of your new KB and find out its name. :)

THAT'S GREAT! You are amazing! I wish I had your drive and positivity!

I am proud of myself to day for eating well and cleanly, and getting my new KB--a nice 12kg which needs a good name.

My points: 75--still no sleep and no BWE or VO2. Tough to get 100 eh?

Have a great day Liz!

Today's points are much better. I ate clean all day! I did my KBs and a jog too! I feel great!

80 for me! Not enough sleep, no BWE, but tomorrow I will try it. NO

Great goals Liz, I know what you mean about tracking, even when off course. I NEED to do it or I really over eat. I have to start fighting my sweet tooth more as well. I have been letting it get the better of me. Be sure to get that rest day in there, and don't feel shy about getting 2 rest days either. If you get the right rest, you will make faster gains in strength and losses on the scale. Resist the urge to over train. I am not done yet today, so I will post my points shortly.

GO FOR IT!

BTW, I changed it to a month challenge even though it says one week, it isn't. I can't change the name without losing the numbers already tracked and members joined. Sorry. Next month I will change the name.

PPS. I am going to explain Darren's convoluted Dice Game--go check the thread.

No KBs for me today - I really miss it on my off days but am going to try really hard this month not to overtrain. My total points for today 70 + 20 for posting June goals. Here they are:

*start fresh! 5 pounds to go by July 6
*rest! have one day a week of rest or yoga-only
*stay in range! I need to be more consistent with tracking my food this month. When I start to veer off course I stop tracking and then go haywire. Not anymore! If nothing else, I'll even track the going off course....
*KBs 3-4 x per week
*run once a week this month (as part of doing cardio 5+ days a week)

I need to reflect more on these so may post a blog on goals later, but that's where I am for today.

emoticon I know but I just can't let them go! I love them!!! emoticon I have way more heels than sensible shoes. My sensible shoes include platform wedges. I love to be tall tall tall! LOL!

This is a new month, so we will really push hard this time! Let's go! June is here and July is just around the corner, so no excuses. emoticon emoticon

Sid, Sid, Sid, don't you know high heels are dangerous??? I know you love them but I'm sure your legs look fabulous enough in something a little more sensible. I have one pair of high (for me) wedges - when I call them my high heels my friends ridicule me. Other than that, flat shoes all the way for me! I hope you are feeling better. Thanks for the new challenge. I have had a rough patch with my eating - some emotional freakouts including one battle I lost with an ice cream cake - ugh. Anyway, I am SOOOO ready to get back down to business. I'm going to re-start my ticker and re-vamp my sparkpage this weekend for some extra motivation, too. Look for a new picture of my kettlebells soon! :)

Way to go Pat!!

Thanks Liz,

I was stupid and tripped down some stairs in my high heels. It has been a week now and they are still swollen, so no exercise for 7days now emoticon
Anyway, I think I will do some KBs tomorrow. It was a really long week, but I had a long sleep and a nap today. I feel much better. Thanks for caring! I am glad that you too got some good sleep. It really does make a huge difference to my mood and energy!

You take care of yourself too!!!

I missed something - what happened to your ankles?? So sorry to hear that you are hurt - and not getting sleep. I finally got a good night's sleep last night and I know it will make such a big difference for today. I hope you get back into a good sleep routine soon. (and that your ankles are better soon!)
