One of my friends and mentors taught me that way back, and always thought it was such a nice thing to say, rather than 'Hey! What's up?' when you see a friend.

namaste, to you and all. thanks Liz emoticon

Another good one! I drive my kids crazy always making them take the stairs rather than elevators - which is a good thing, since we are not very careful groomers ;).

Not really a motivational quote, but this has been on my mind:

At the beginning and end of yoga practice, it is traditional to say "Namaste." A good general translation is "the light in me sees the light in you." I'm so thankful for this team and say "Namaste" to all of you!

Peace, Liz

Hey Liz,

Great quote!!! That one is really popular here. Kids get bodidharma dolls that rock back and spring forward. I hear it all the time in my dojos, too--'always get back up and do it again.' Great stuff!!! emoticon

LOL. I can tell how HUGE you are by your pic!

Oh my goodness! Sorry to hear about your friend. If I were you, I wouldn't feel too badly about what you did. I would have done the same thing. Really! I'm quite vindictive myself. I don't know that I'd go so far as putting a wrench in someone's hood, but I have thrown nails under tires, amongst other things.

emoticon I am HUGE!!!! emoticon No, seriously, I'd just shoot the bike from under me a bit so that it would roll a bit into the side of the car, just to get their attention; that or just tap the side of their car to get them to get off their cell phones or stop watching their flat-screens while driving. Feel a bit bad about it now, but at the time thought they sd be more considerate of people using bikes. A friend of mine had been paralyzed by a motorist while cycling; the guy was messing around with his radio and swerved across the road, not paying attention. At the time, felt it was my way of giving a wake-up call to drivers to make sure that it didn't happen again to anyone else.

But I was nice in comparison to others. My one roommate was a cyclist, and was always dodging traffic, even though he had bright colours and lights on. In the end, he ended up carrying a wrench in his pack, and if a car hit him, or edged impaciantly toward him at a light, he'd burry one in the hood.

Don' think I was justified now, and now just try to get them to notice in a nice way where they don't hit me or the other 50 cyclists going by them emoticon What can you do?

emoticon You make me laugh soo much emoticon It's just a saying. And anger can be a powerful motivator, so don't worry so much. I used to be angry in traffic here and actually throw my bike into cars that didn't respect cyclists or kick their cars to make them think they hit someone.

Now, I just laugh. emoticon Things change.

Thought it was time for some more positivity in the office:

Here are the daily affirmations taught when you start to become a reiki practitioner, but I think they are good words to live by. Try saying them 5 times at random times during the day for a week.

Just for today I will give thanks for my many blessings.
Just for today I will not worry.
Just for today I will not be angry.
Just for today I will do my work honestly.
Just for today I will be kind to my neighbor and every living thing.

Many blessing to you all, D

I found this one on SP, and I really like it because it fits me!

A man who wants something will find a way; a man who doesn’t will find an excuse.

I pick this one as one of my favorites because years ago I was a workout fanatic. I was at the gym 6 days a week for 3 hours a day. I did both cardio and strength and was in tip-top shape. Then I got married. We bought a house that was somewhat of a fixer-upper. SO, my working out lessened and lessened . Then I started back at school f/t while working f/t and taking care of a house and husband. Needless to say time passed and as I became less busy, I created new "excuses" for not working out. I realize that now and although I'm just as busy, I MAKE the time because it's either make time or make excuses!
