Sometimes I wake up in a kind of funk. But all I have to do is ride a few miles on my chrome stallion and I feel better.

I don't sing or play music, when I am on the bike, I am always smiling though............and I find it is easy to pray and talk to God when I am out and about.......

Amen, LINCOLNR. I know when I'm on my bike, I have all I need at this very moment. All I have to respond to is what is here right now(or 12 seconds ahead anyway). No regrets about the past, no worries about the future. I have learned I can trust my ability to handle whatever presents itself in the moment. Plus, it is all beautiful scenery (even the routine ride to and from work). You sure can't beat the view from a bike.

I like being on the bike because it really hones me in to the moment, RIGHT NOW! In some circles it's called situational awareness... It is almost a spiritual state, where you are connected to everything around you, but also kind of passive in a way. Like when I slow down because I already know that that SUV is going to turn in front of me, but it doesn't make me angry. It just is, and that moment is gone, and the future is out there ahead :)

There are a couple of almost cold spots on the interstate between here and Trussville(where the H-D dealer is) and is just like riding thru a swamp. David says there is likely an underground spring there. No doubt, it is near Springville, AL

A motorcycle can also serve as a time machine. the other day as I rode, I crossed a lower spot in the road, where rainwater stands (when it actually rains here!) The smell of the marsh-type plants growing there instantly transported me back 40 years, when I rode horseback in my granddad's pasture. His land had a creek running through it, and the same plants grew there. They have a distinctive "swampy" smell that I experienced again while on my motorcycle. It made me grin as I thought of the horses & my friend I rode with all those years ago. Wonderful!

I take more trips on my bike which require me to walk when I arrive at my destination. I love to see new waterfalls or sites of interest. I'm generally a more relaxed happy person when I ride. Yesterday I shoveled the snow to get my bike out of the shed, so that was good exercise for me too. I can't wait to ride again, to feel the sunshine, and pantlegs flapping in the wind.

I call my bike my therapist. When I get on I feel that all of my troubles are gone. Whether it's a 15 minute ride to the grocery store or a 5 hour trip in the country, for that time I forget everything but me.

I always feel carefree and youthful when I ride. It is difficult to put into words. I liken it to being on a galloping chrome and steel stallion with just the wind in my face and the sound of his hoofbeats in my ears. I feed him the best petrol and he takes me anywhere I want to go. He is truly a wondrous thing!

"Spark Eyes", what are they you ask.....?
Since joining SP I look at foods in a way now that I never did before. I can see that food I put on my plate or order at a restaurant is one serving or more, I then decide on how much I will eat based on the coating or how shiny it is (cooked in oil or butter). To me being able to have this new found ability gives me "Spark Eyes"! Pretty cool if you ask me!

I get into my own little world while riding and don't have to talk or listen to anybody while I'm riding. I found that if I chew gum while riding it keeps my mind from wondering too much and I just focus on me, myself and my bike and of course the road ahead! Oh and should I mention the most expensive vibrator around.lol Sorry guys I just had to say it because I know no one else would! That fact really helps out at home too! If you know what I mean! lol
