Went for another great 60 min walk outdoors.
This has been a good month for me. Getting lots of cardio done and some strength training. Getting my food intake under better control and drinking more water.

Lost 3.5 lbs this month.

I did it!! I lost 6lbs and now I am no longer Severely obese. This month has been extremely hard emotionally so I am especially proud of myself for managing... If I got through this month of stress and emotional insanity I am sure I can do better next month.

good morning. It is a beautiful day. I weighed in this morning and another pound gone. I have loved being outside this week. I've been walking at the local park every day. I got a 30 min walk in this morning. Hubby is coming home today so its a busy day. I'll have to break up the cardio into pieces today.

Hi everyone...it has been a while. These last two weeks my brother has been here on vacation so i must admit i did not exercise nor eat very well nor sleep very well...well you get the picture...still lost 2.5 pounds though this month...
My hardest was getting in the 300 mins...200 ok but no more just to busy.
Can not wait to do better next month

I didnt walk yesterday but I did do 30 mins gardening planting my flower garden.
Today I did another 30 mins gardening (more flower planting) and also did a 60 min walk outdoors. It is a beautiful day.

sticking to the calories is the hardest, i have been doing it most days, but it is really really hard. i just keep seeing my big fat belly and thinking about that when I want to eat, i am going to try muching on almond slices too

I am doing ok. I am still having a rought ime eating super (though i know what I SHOULD do, I just haven't DONE it!), and exercise is still not as much as what I want... Luckily, I am tapering (1 week til my race!) and am back into football. :) So I am doing something! Next Sunday is my 1/2 marathon (Rock n Roll in San Diego)... Wish me luck!!

Good morning. It is bright and sunny here. It is supposed to be a beautiful weekend. I can't wait. We will be outside most of it...lots of activities planned. Yesterday was a very stressful day. It was busy, busy, busy..and just went I thought it was getting better..I get the news that my mom (who is 56) fell and broke her hand. We are going to the orthopedist today so they can set it. Hubby is also coming home today. The kids are looking forward to their 3 day break. They are done for the year on June 10...then they will drive me crazy...lol My 16 yr old is job hunting though...so hopefully that goes well and she stays busy.

It looks like another beautiful bicycling day here in NH. I'll be commuting to work on my bike as my cardio exercise. The weekend is supposed to be dry, warm and sunny, so there will be plenty of cycling all weekend. I'm so happy to have a 3 day weekend - with good weather - so I can get LOTS of exercise and work off this final pound to reach the 5 pound goal for my May mission!

I had started cleaning up my eating in April. Eating lots more fresh foods and cooking from scratch and not purchasing products with preservatives. And it's not easy. There are preservatives in most of the breads and baked goods, and there is HFCS (high fructose corn syrup) in seemingly everything. I'm baking bread from scratch, using whole grains. I slice it up and freeze it in 2-slice bags. The one area where I don't do so well on the clean eating is the Lean Cuisine meals that I rely on for my lunch, and my yogurt, which is sweetened with nutrasweet. I eat very high fiber (I have beans every day), and lots of fruits and veggies. I was originally trying for 5 a day, but now it's more like 9 a day.

My worst area is still sleep. I know I am not getting enough, but if I get more sleep there are other things that are not getting done. I haven't yet resolved that dilemma.

Ladies,

Thanks for sharing the encouragement! Yes, if you do not lose 5 pounds this month, but lost a ton of inches, then you are making progress. I was in a plateau for a long time until I made some serious changes! For example, I increased my fiber intake and one month, I lost 7 pounds that particular month. So, get a strategy! That was one of the purposes of this challenge was to help us get a strategy! I am really trying my hardest to clean up my eating. This is not easy, but I have to keep telling myself that I am worth the effort!

So, hang in there! Do some strategizing and watch the weight eventually come off!

Hi all,
I just want to affirm what Jennifer said in her post below. Weight is not the only measure of progress. You can control your actions; you can't control the results. I think the best tools are the nutrition & fitness trackers. I look at what I've done for the day, the week, the month - and I see what I can improve and then I work on that. We would all like to wake up and have the weight be gone, but then we wouldn't have learned anything. You work on it day by day, tweaking this and that, until the weight is finally gone. But then when you get there, you won't be thinking 'oh no, how will I ever maintain the loss?'...you'll already have all the tools and knowledge and habits to just keep on going with the new thinner healthier you.

No gym again today but went for another 60 min walk with lots of hills. Really enjoying all this walking outdoors instead of a treadmill,
No weight loss yet, I would settle for even l lb loss.

Good morning everyone. It is another cold rainy day here. It will be a busy day..so I'm hoping to get in my exercise and stay on track.

I just wanted to say to you all..even if the weight isn't coming off at the rate you want it to...don't give up. Weight isn't the only way to measure your success. Inches, less stress, better eating habits, better mood, more energy...these are all ways to improve your health amn measure your progress. Just keep up the work and you will see the results. I know that you can do it.

Defiantly wont be breaking 5 this month. Id settle for 1. My bodys having a really hard time with this quitting smoking thing 4 months ago.... weight piles on too easily and doesn't like to come off very fast. :(

Amber & charity,
I can totally relate. It has taken me weeks to see any kind of result. But, I find I feel better and more motivated when I focus on the process rather than just the outcome. It helps keep me going. Good luck to you and just keep moving, you'll get there!

Hi all,
Amber I am in the same place as you. I have been doing well with the exercise, and food has been pretty ok. I have not been good night sleeps, and feel run down. My weight is slowly creeping up and up. It is KILLING me!

Our perception and attitude toward any situation will determine the outcome.
