I bought Jillian's DVD as well. Which level did you do? Level 3 is the toughest out of the 3 workouts. I like the DVD, especially since the workouts are a little over 20 minutes. I give it 2 thumbs up!

I just bought Jillian Michaels 30-day Shred yesterday, but I have to be honest and say that it was a good workout, but not as tough as most of the reivews I read said it would be. Anyone else tried this dvd? opinions, results?

Both, she one she does cardio then strength circuit for 40 minutes. The second is 10 min of legs, 10 cardio, 10 min strenth for those days when you don't have a lot of time or don't feel like working out.

I hope we both get the abs we are striving for ... and yes the six pack would be a bonus.

I agree Get Ripped 1000 is killer. I first saw her dvds at my sisters house on vacation in the summer(i only really started them in Jan, a slow start but a good one) We did that one first together, lol, i could not walk the next day, but it felt so good do it.

At first, I was doing a weekly rotation, but I think I am going to stick with a 21 day routine, then I can shock my body after 7 weeks. The one DVD of Jari's that I find to be the toughest is the Get Ripped 1000. That is one tough workout! Whew! emoticon

Also, that picture of yours is my motivation as well. I just want a flat stomach. If I can get a 6-pack, then that's just a bonus! Let's motivate one another to get those abs! emoticon

Hey Steph,

14th day of Ripped to the core?? AWSOME good for you... I find that is the hardest one for me.
Seeing that I have all of Jari Loves dvds I do them in order from first to fifth every other day so I get adifferent workout each day...plus the first two are slightly easier so that is a break from the others...
Well I must admit those are not my abs in the pic... that is my motivation picture...that is what I would like to get in the end...

Cecile,

I will be doing Jari Love's Ripped to the core later on in the day! I am on Day #14 of doing the workout. Susen went on Jari's website and saw that Jari suggested doing the workout for 20 days and then switch. So, that's what I'm doing! However, I am trying to figure out which one to switch to. Decisions, Decisions, Decisions!

Steph

P.S. In your picture, is that you with those amazing abs? If so, you go girlfriend!

Hi everyone,

I just joined this team and wanted to say that I have all but one Jari Love DVDs and she is awsome. Yes it is a challenge but that is what we want, is it not?
If you start with a low wieght and slowly build up I am sure you all can do it...Believing is half the battle... Cathe Fredrich is also one of my favorites... she has great cardio step DVDs and wieght training that will have you felling it for days...
I did Cathe Basic step today on a medium high step and i felt the burn
Have a great day everyone.

Susen,

Please stay in touch and let me know how they work out for you. I just love them. I am seeing more definition in my arms and shoulders, which is typically easy for me. I cannot wait to see some changes in my legs, which are my problem areas!

Have fun and try not to cuss Jari out! emoticon

I just received Jari Loves GET RIPPED, SLIM & LEAN and GET RIPPED TO THE CORE in the mail! I e-mailed her and her people said to start out with GET RIPPED, after 20 workouts start SLIM & LEAN and after 20 workouts move on to GET RIPPED TO THE CORE.
I am looking forward to trying GET RIPPED at some point this week.

Susen,

The GetRipped! DVD is good for "almost" intermediate exerciser. It's a great workout! Here's the website:

http://www.rippedworkout.ca/

However, the DVD are cheaper on Amazon.com

I hope this helps!

Earlier I replied and said if you wanted to start out with Jari Love do GetRipped! Slim & Lean. Well, I lied! I did that workout today and I forgot how tough it was. However, if you want a serious challenge, I highly recommend it!

When I started Slim in Six back in the summer I found it really tough. I stopped exercising in October when my Mom got sick and just got back into in January. I'm finding it's definitely challenging, but not nearly as hard as I found it back in the summer. And, I can't argue with the results I got. I think it's working already, because my boyfriend has commented on how much more toned I look and how much firmer my muscles feel. He's actually pretty amazed! I know people look at the commercials and wonder about these Beachbody products. It took me a long time to decide to order, too. But, they really do work!!! I'd recommend them to anyone. The Hip Hop Abs just looks like a really fun way to exercise, and looks like a fun way to switch it up. I was also intrigued by the Yoga Booty Ballet. I love to Belly Dance (I have an awesome instructor and Belly Dance Academy in my area) and wish they'd come out with a Belly Dance series of exercise DVDs, too.

Please keep in touch and let me know how you like your Turbo Jam. Variety in exercise is so important to fight boredom - and to keep your body guessing!

Yeah, my best friend tried the Slim in 6 series. She said it was pretty tough. I finally broke down and paid the big bucks to order the Turbo Jam set from Beachbody, so I'll let you know how it works out! I'm up for anything fast-paced with good music, so I'm really looking forward to trying it out!

Susen, I would recommend the Get Ripped or the GetRipped Slim and Lean if you're just starting out. Some of the other ones are tough! I tried the GetRipped 1000 and turned it off, because it was extremely tough. I am going to have to work my way up to that one. However, I ordered the new Get Ripped & Chiseled as well as the Get Ripped to the Core DVDs. I will let you know how those go, once I try them.

Also, Ladies, I have tried both Turbo Jam and Hip Hop Abs. I like them both. Turbo Jam is over with so quickly, that you cannot believe you are done with your workout. Cardio Party Mix #1 and #2 are my favorites of the Turbo Jam series. However, the Lower Body Jam is a great workout as well, because it targets my main problem area: my lower body.

Hip Hop Abs make me feel like a teenager, because of the moves. The Ab Jam is no joke, but it's a great workout! Anything that makes me feel young, I am all for it! emoticon

Hip Hop Abs has intrigued me too, Jenn. I have to say that I really like the Beachbody DVDs. I have had really nice results using Debbie Siebers' Slim in Six. I have the Slim Express Series as well, and would be willing to sell them if you're interested. Also, check eBay. eBay seems to have a lot of DVDs (including Hip Hop Abs) for ridiculously low prices.

This isn't exactly a DVD, but I tried the Cardio Blast program that comes on Fit-TV and it was awesome! It was a really fast-paced kickboxing routine the day I watched it. I'm recording another today in hopes that it will be just as good.

I'm also looking to try either Turbo Jam or Hip Hop Abs by Beachbody. Anyone try either of those? I have the Power 90 routine and liked it, but had gotten very bored with the same old routine every other day. The same thing happened with my Billy Blanks Bootcamp DVDs after awhile. Anyone have any old DVD routines they'd be willing to trade or sell? I'm always looking to try something new, but those things can be really expensive in the stores.

I really like the Beachbody "Debbie Siebers Slim in Six" DVDs. The Start It Up! one is only 25 minutes, but it's really good. The next level is a big jump up, from the 25 minutes to nearly 55 minutes. Intense but I found it very effective.
I've been meaning to get Jari Love's DVDs. She lives and trains in my city and she's a frequent guest on our Breakfast Television show. Any suggestions as to the best DVD of Jari's to begin with so I don't kill myself?

What a great topic!

Honestly, I never thought I'd say this, but I've become a big Billy Blanks fan. I won his "Ultimate Bootcamp" DVD and bands set about 5 months ago and absolutely love what a great workout I get. I'm looking into adding some more of his routines to my collection just to keep from getting bored. In the meantime, I usually surf my exercise-on-demand offerings from my cable company.

I love working out at home. However, I like to try new workouts in order to break plateaus by constantly changing my routines every 4-6 weeks. So, what are your favorite workout DVDs? If you workout at home, please share!

Right now, my favorite strength training DVD is from Jari Love's Get Ripped. It's a very challenging workout. I am thinking about getting her new DVD titled "Get Ripped & Chiseled".

Phil. 4:13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

No one can do what you are called to do, but you!

Great works are performed not by strength but by perserverance. - Samuel Johnson
