Agreed... weekends are the worst. It is very easy for me to stay on track when I am at work. I simply don't have teh goodies here at work like I do at home.

We too have been using the project list for a while and it really helps. And the benefit is three fold. I stay away from the bad snacks (1) I am getting some exercise by moving around and not sitting on the couch (2) and I am getting a lot of things done around the house (3). When the rest of the fam get involved it is even better.

Good luck! I've been doing a bit better since I noticed the pattern. Also, I started portioning out my popcorn which is an all-time weekend favorite for me. Thanks for the tip! emoticon

Hello I am new to the website!
What I do is watch what I eat M- S and on Sunday I eat whatever I want. When I go grocery shopping I dont buy the things I like the most for example brownies and crackers. Boring" I know but is the only way for me to get rid of the temptation. If I dont have them at home I wont eat them. It has been really difficult, but after a while you just dont have cravings any more. When my husband is eating chips, brownies and things like that I just get away from him. Right now I am just focusing on losing this weight. I am tired of not fitting in my jeans. Wish me luck!

Same problem here! This weekend consists of Friday night dinner party with friends. Not sure what's being served. Then Saturday headed into the city for a weekend with the girls, which will consist if eating out multiple meals and drinking wine. Ugggh! My social life kills my diet plan! I will work out both Friday and Saturday before I leave and hopefully the weather will hold out and we will do a lot of walking in the city.

Thank you, that's a great idea. I mean, there's always something to clean but it's no where near as fun as eating something delicious (& usually high in fat & calories). I'm going to try that this weekend-a fun project list for when I'm done cleaning whether it's clean or not....

I have this weekend "problem" as well... especially in the winter. My husband and I jokingly say that we're hibernating. At the beginning of each weekend I make a list of all the projects and activities that I want to get done (and I'm not just talking about cleaning - but something that I enjoy doing and makes me happy). That way when I'm bored/overwhelmed/lazy I can just pick something on my list and hop to it. We also try to workout first thing in the morning to set the tone for the rest of the day.

It is much easier to stay away from the food in summer, since we spend more time out of the house.

Thank you! I'm definitely going to try these suggestions. I may even leave the house completely. I noticed that even if I run an errand-like to the pharmacy, I eat less. Cabin fever=increased calorie intake. Who knew.... :)

For sure. Do someting else in another room. Now my place is small and is hard to do anything in another room because I can always see the kitchen, so I tend to exercise. Lift weights, jumping jacks, running in place, something.

Also I look at the calories and ask myself how much do I want to work to get rid of those calories. Drink LOTS of water. Everytime I t hink about eating, I drink water. I have a 32 ounce bottle I use and I'll drink at least half of that before I decide for sure if I want something to eat.

I also really really try to only eat at scheduled times. That totally helps. It trains your brain to be hungry at a certain time. Try to eat smaller, more frequent meals too. More fulfilling meals, like oatmeal or a peanut butter sandwich.

Do a search on SP to see what else you can find too. :)

When I'm home and get those bored snack cravings I start cleaning or straitening up the bedrooms as long as I'm doing something in a room other than the kitchen/dining room.

So... I'm looking at my chart and noticing that weekends are sabotaging my nutrition! Ok, well, I'm sabotaging it on the weekend. Saturday is the worst!!! Unstructured time, boredom, children, & the occasional invitation out for a drink-the culprits. Which is the worst? Boredom, I believe. Let's just say that this weekend has been a "calories in" weekend :/ So boredom plus pms.... well, you get the picture. What have any of you done to combat boredom and/or pms cravings?
