Hey team - just wanted everyone to know that there will be a February walk put up, but not today. It'll more likely be sometime on the 1st. I'm having to make an unexpected 500 mile drive--leaving shortly--so that my sister can return home after spending time at our parents. My dad had surgery, is recovering okay, but we need a somewhat younger person in the house for moral & errand support for Mom. So I should have time on Saturday afternoon - naptime for Mom & Dad? -- to get this done.

I'm back at it again. I really was resting and recovering over the weekend. And on Sunday I went to the opera.

Got on the elliptical today. We are supposed to have some kind of snow event here tonight and I will probably not be in the office on Wednesday. In North Carolina, our snow removal method is that we wait for it to melt. I don't go out in it anymore.

Fablesinger - I read your post about whether you are doing things correctly in posting. I have no idea. I will respond by telling you what I do.

Here are my steps -
(1) I find my most recent post in the thread and copy my mileage table out of it.
(2) Then I Post a new message to the thread and I paste my mileage table into that.
(3) Then I add my mileage updates at the end.
(4) Sometimes I write something about what form of exercise I did today in the post.

Hey Ann - glad to see you are getting some care for your knee issues. I will definitely put a single digit goal out there in February. You just let me know if you want it nearer 10 miles or nearer 5.

Walked last weekend and then on Monday came down with a really awful stomach virus and was down for the count until today. Even today I'm not sure I'm interested in anything other than crackers, chicken noodle soup, or (for some reason) canned pears. So I didn't cover any miles at all and will not be exercising today.

Hi All,
Just checking in from the (temporarily) disabled list. I've started with the medical after some delays in getting all of my insurance info. Yesterday I saw the doctor and had x-rays of both knees (the right knee is considerably more swollen and painful than the left, but there's a problem there, too. I also had blood tests to rule out some fun stuff like Lyme disease, thyroid (didn't know that can cause knee problems), and Rheumatoid Arthritis (though we're about 90% sure that its Osteo). I have 2 meds different prescriptions to deal with the pain and inflammation, since all the Aleve I've been taking is bringing my normally low-normal blood pressure to the brink of a high reading - better to stop that trend now. We topped all of this off with a knee brace that practically covers my whole leg (I'm short) and makes it somewhere between difficult and impossible to bend my knee. Ever tried to walk that way? Heck, its hard to find a comfortable way to sit! We'll follow up in 2 weeks.

I came home from all of that exhausted and walked into a natural disaster in my apartment (water, yes probably caused by freezing), but that is a whole other story! Looks like you're all having a great month - I'm a little jealous of all of those miles but I know I'll get back out there with you. Unless there's some dramatic improvement, I'm probably out of commission for February, too. Joan, maybe you can come up with a single-digit mileage goal for me and I'll wear my pedometer around the house and on my few outings?

Ann - keep posting and recovering from your injury. Easy for me to say since I disappeared in December when I was resting my foot/ankle. I didn't keep up, but you can model good behavior for us!

Since I last posted I have
- participated in a recording session of lower brass playing Easter and Lent music. Lower brass is tubas, euphoniums, and trombones. It was an amazing experience. The CD should be out around Easter.
