After last night's crazy thunderstorm, it was only a little over 70 this morning. So, I had a quick breakfast, coaxed the dog, and we headed out for a walk. Have I mentioned that I'm at my sister's house this week house/pet sitting. I'm hoping to spend the weekend in WV for a final memorial for one of my cousins who died in Feb, if my brother comes to get me tomorrow. So, we'll see how the rest of the month goes, but at least I've hit all of my goals for the month!

Could you get up at zero-dark thirty and walk those last three-tenths of a mile? I dislike getting up at zero-dark thirty to walk or run, but sometimes it's the only option.

Ruth, I just love these educational walks.

Went for a walk after supper. According to the local TV channel's web site, it's 86 degrees but feels like 93. Yuck. We are expecting 97 tomorrow. Double yuck.

In Riga on Wednesday June 12th the official high was 73 and the low was 40. Sounds good to me! Warmer Thursday in Riga with an expected high of 75. That's about 8 degrees above normal.

Viktor Robertovich Tsoi was a Soviet musician, songwriter, leader of the band Kino. He is regarded as one of the pioneers of Russian rock and has many devoted fans across the countries of the former Soviet Union even today.

Catching up on posting.
Kevin so glad you are back. I tried to post pictures the last few walks, but I'm not consistent in doing that. You are finding some really good ones.

Well, my church had its annual BBQ fundraiser yesterday during Tropical Storm Andrea. It was very wet and I think successful. I had a lot of fun making the tea, talking to folks, running trays of hush puppies from the cooker outside--under a tent--to inside, taking out trash in the rain...I love flinging bags of trash in the dumpster...who knew? The youth fellowship who benefits from this got soaked running the drive through. All in all a good day. But I ache from my toes to my shoulders, despite all of my walking, running and strength training. I guess I'm not "training" the motion required for trash flinging or for lifting a 4 gallon bucket of tea and pouring it into a drink cooler?

Didn't walk on Thursday - BBQ setup day. But I did do strength training early Thursday morning. Did lots of walking on Friday - or running through the rain. Went for a reasonably long walk this afternoon. We have a bit of sunshine back now.
