Joan, you are so right about the books. A year in storage and they seem to have increased exponentially! The kitchen is done - we even found homes for everything, which I wasn't sure was possible. There's one box in the bedroom and still 7 boxes of books to either unpack or get rid of. You can imagine me trying to go through them and make those decisions. Between my favorite topics and the books written by people I know and especially by friends... and if I don't get rid of some books there's nowhere to display any of the 4 boxes of tchotckes...

Joan, all the boxes are open and most are unpacked. Can anybody tell me why I still have a dozen boxes of books? That's in addition to the 3 boxes I moved east with last year, the 4+ boxes I sold, and the 3+ boxes I donated. I'm glad to be reunited with some of them and with a lot of my other stuff, but clearly, there's more culling to do!

On Friday all of the things that have been in storage in Seattle since I left there last April arrived in Virginia, in a large freight container. There were about 50 boxes in it, which all got piled in my living room. Yesterday I managed to unpack about 15 of them, so I am definitely in that stage of things being worse before they can get better. One of my sisters lives about an hour from me, so she's going to come up a couple of days this week and help me unpack and find homes for everything. She already has some of my things in storage at her house and I won't be surprised if she takes more before we're done. For someone who has never had a home of my own larger than a one bedroom apartment, I have a lot of stuff!

We've had several months of walking down the US east coast and we need to go somewhere different. Possibly even somewhere that folks don't think about a lot. So we are going to a Baltic nation, once a part of the USSR - Estonia. Why? Because I've seen pictures of the capital and it's really cool. And it's probably cool from a temperature perspective too as it's pretty far north.
