I think that Augusta Maine sounds like a great idea. I do think that we went to Maine more recently than you're remembering Joan, as I remember a walk to Acadia National Park, but I still think this is a good choice.

How about Augusta, Maine?
Should be cooler than where I am - high of 102 or 103 expected today - and it meets the "August" criteria.

Owlwho and I way back in 2007 or 2008 walked in Maine along the coast, but I don't think any of you walked with us on that one. So, Maine is new for virtual walking for most of us and I've never walked in or around Augusta, Maine--real or virtually.

I know that Kevin will come up with something creative, so I'll channel him until he checks in emoticon There's a Hotel Caesar Augustus on Capri. Now, I'm figuring that Capri isn't big enough for our walks but what about if we walked to somewhere where we could get the ferry to Capri? According to Wikipedia, we could get the ferry from Naples, Sorrento, Positano,or Amalfi.

I'm not finding anything else fun for August or Augustus. Anybody else?

Feeling much better today. Even got good news from the doc when I got my cholesterol test numbers. The last time I had it done (3 or 4 years ago) it was a little high and the doc wanted me on meds but I said no. This test was almost perfect! LDL a little high yet but everything else was great!

As for August's walk, have we walked to Rome before? August is named after Augustus Caesar.

A not so hot front -- we don't get cold fronts this time of year! -- came through last night and this morning was gloriously free of humidity! Yes! Not that I exercised outside first thing in the morning, but I did enjoy not being in stifling air. Went to the fitness center this afternoon. Trombone choir tonight.
