I was away from my computer for a couple weeks, but kept a log of my steps, when I got back and checked - I was through New Zealand.

No miles for me today. Instead for about 3 hours this afternoon I shoveled snow (and ice) with the neighbors. We cleared our driveways and the driveways of three other neighbors. Lots of fellowship and great fun for us since we don't often get snow here.

Our destination is the Cape of Good Hope at the southern tip of Africa. I tried to find walks for us in Morocco and Egypt without success. The "Get Directions" in Google was unable to get me directions. Don't know why. Certainly the roads were there. So we'll do South Africa. It should be warm there.

I had the absolutely best run today in a while. First reason - it was outside. I had a dental check up in the middle afternoon, so had to work from home in the afternoon. Therefore I was able to get out and run in the park. The sun was going down - beautiful orange globe - and it was about 50 degrees, which is practically perfect in every way. I was reading something earlier in a blog that Owlwho wrote about visualizing, so I was visualizing me still jogging at various points along the trail. I did a good 3 mile jog, only fading a bit at the end. I even enjoyed the mud along the way. I need to figure out how to work in a few more occasional days of working at home in the afternoons so I have a chance to do this more frequently.

So I guess since I'm over goal, I'm wandering around Port Jackson and enjoying the sights. Hope to see more of my Spark Buddies there soon.

I'm a little behind in posting my mileage. Got up early this morning - okay, slept in until 6:30 - did strength exercises, a load of laundry, mopped two floors & changed the sheets on the bed. I ran Thursday and did elliptical on Friday. Friday was a very stressful day. I had planned on taking the day off from cardio, but needed the cardio to balance the stress. Glad I did my elliptical time. Today may be my day off from cardio.

I've had stomach/nausea/pain issues since Monday, so not getting in much mileage. Went to the doctor today and they did tests, and tomorrow go in for an ultrasound to see if it's my gallbladder. I was also ordered not to exercise, so in order to try and come close to finish this month's walk, I'm wearing my pedometer all day and recording that mileage. Not really how I want to do it, but that's the way it goes.

Been visiting the fitness club on a free trial basis for the week. I have tried yoga, spinning, treadmills, ellipticals, and weight machines. I like it, but feel like paying for it is an extra burden on my family. But it has been icy and cold here and I cannot get a really good workout lately. I will probably join over the weekend and commit to it monthly for a few months.
