I'm very happy today, my partner has given me a new camera as a valentines pressie. It's a nikon 220 compact, he knew I wanted something as small as poss and this one is quite small. Fits in my bum pocket easily so I'll be able to take some photo's for you all. (and me of course).
Apart from that I'm hopefully going to be taking part in the South Downs relay this spring. That will be 100 miles using parts of the South Downs way. Great.
If everyone will wait until next autumn then I'll be able to take some photo's of the crop circles that appear near Winchester every year. I have some hidden away in a draw somewhere, ?I shall have to see if I can find them.
Happy now, though I am far from diligent about recording my milage.
OK - I'll keep editing this little bit as I work out how many miles I've walked over the past few weeks, not to many I'm afraid.
7/10 - 1
6/10 - 3.5
5/10 - 5.5
I am walking to Scotland from a place where I used to live as a child. I'm glad to see someone else walking in the UK.
I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.
The Southdowns way is a lolipop route from BeachyHead to Winchester. The lolipop being at the BeachyHead end of the route. I have decided that I shall start my journey at the 'head' of the lolipop looping in land to Beachyhead, then along the coast back to the head of the lolipop before I head off toward Winchester.
I have just bought myself a pedometer and a map measure so now I can be more accurate in working out how far I walk. Yesterday my partner and I went for a 5.5 mile walk. I shall add this to last weeks walking total and find out where I am. I have a few more photo's that I shall put up this week.
Sounds like a great walk. Hadrian's Wall also sounds great. That is a place I would like to visit someday.
Have a great walk and keep us posted about your progress.

I'm going to walk the South Downs Way. Some of it I will actually walk, other parts will be virtual.
I walk 2 miles most days just for some fresh air. However I love the idea of plotting it against something real. Once I have completed this walk I will look for something further afield, Hadrians wall or offas dyke. Something that I can see and look up.
I shall get a big map and record my progress. I also need a tool to work out how far I'm walking. I shall try and put up some new images of the walks as I do them.
