I agree you were wise to take what we call a shake down camping trip to try out all the equipment. When our DS and DIL bought a mini to drive to Alaska where they were being stationed in the Air Force, I suggested they take it to a camp groud for a day and I think my DIL was insulted. She couldn't understand why. They bought it here and drove it to Alaska with DH following in their car that was shipped from Washington.
Now does the motor home run on gas or diesel? And do you have any cooking facility at all? I always thought renting an RV in Europe would be the way to really see the area. I believe there are caravans that do that for you. In our travels we often see people that have rented an American RV to travel in. I remember once a couple from Europe could not figure out where to fill the water tank. Several people in the camp ground couldn't help them either. A real puzzler.
We have a bed across the back, then a tiny bathroom (shower, toilet, basin) then 2 seats(forward facing), then the table followed by the driver's/passenger's seats which rotate so 4 can sit at the table. There is a second double bed which drops down over the driver's seat and table/cooker. All very compact! Certainly one of the smallest we saw but we wanted something easy to use/park as a second vehicle eg when my husband needs a car to get to school (he usually cycles)etc Tessa

Tessa - I'm glad to hear your first excursion was so successful. Makes you ready to go again and again! I checked out the new pictures in your photo gallery. The MH looks great. As I am always greedy and want more, more, more, I would love to see what the inside looks like. If you can post a picture of inside, I would love that.

We had a lovely time. Everything seemed to work fine. We stayed at a small quiet campsite, I'm sure we will go back. The rain had stopped this morning so we were able to get out and enjoy the countryside. I've uploaded a few pictures to my page. Looking forward to our next trip! Tessa
We go away for just one night tomorrow-our very first trip in a motorhome. We are not going far! We are going to check everything works as it should. I may have questions when we return! Hoping it doesn't rain all the time we are away so we can bike or walk. Tessa
