Saturday (I'm on early today)
Biking this morning-80 minutes.
If the weather clears up (thunder now), I am planninng a water park later.
I did get to the water park. I spent 90 minutes there so I figure between the slides, walking, swimming another 60 minutes of activity.

Thursday-145 minutes total
Biking and Swimming was most of it. I also did some yoga in the evening. That would be it for cardio.
I am not including the strength training in the 145 minutes total but I did some of that too.

Friday: So far I have done 75 minutes of swimming
and 40 minutes of biking. Might try some pilates or yoga later--or if the weather improves--some more bike riding.

Thursday 7/12 I only managed to do 1 mile. I got side tracked, visited to long with a neighbor. But it was fun to catch up. I live in the country so its a 1/2 mile to her house and we have not been able to catch each other all summer.

Tuesday--blister popped up--only managed a little more than 6000 steps but lots of other exercise actually. If it is in minutes, Tuesday was well over 2 hours. I will report minutes starting tomorrow. I am watching the blister closely. I have been told that foot blisters are very serious.

I erased the Tuesday reading Wednesday morning thinking I had entered it already so I only know it was between 2 and 3 miles which is somewhere around the 5700-6000 step mark for my stride.

Patty,
Diabetics need to pay extra attention to their feet.
Any sores should be reported to your doctor, for proper care. Its actually a good thing that you can feel that blister. I'm sure your doctor or dietician has talked to you about footcare.

You may want to change your goal for the rest of the week to minutes exercised. instead of steps.
Also I dont have Tuesday for you.

Lily up to date.

6000 steps in today. I have a nasty blister on the bottom of my feet so I have to take it easy. I have diabetes and foot blisters are apparently very bad. I'm new to diabetes but that is what I have been told and I am being careful---so--I went bike riding and swimming. I did do some running/jogging in the pool--soes that count? I was in the pool for over an hour and I was moving the entire time.

I have 2 hours in already this week. My girl at the gym "tricked" me into going yesterday, lol. I did 30 minutes Monday, 30 minutes Tuesday and 60 minutes today, Wednesday.

Let's stay steady on the course together.

Hello, I forget to post my miles here. I just been recording them. I have done 2 miles everyday. And have gotten 8-10 laps in the pool at the Y.

11118 steps on July 8th. That was in addition to my planned exercise DVD.

I have a pedometer. I've been using it the past 2 weeks to track steps. I'm up for this challenge. Who else wants to join?
I did 12,670 steps today. That is more than I usually do and I'm feeling it right now.

Okay, we were going to use a pedometer, but after some thought, I'm changing it to which ever way is more comfortable for ya'll, whether you measure with the pedometer, in minutes, or any other way of showing progress that you can come up with!

My hubby David, the smarty pants, says he's gonna measure his progress with his FEET! Now, since he's 6 ft 7 inches tall, AND has a 15 Triple EEE shoe size...hmmmm...do ya get his ulterior motive there? Less work for MORE distance...ONE FOOT FOR HIM TO OUR 5! Ahhhhh...a dummy that dude is NOT! Heeheehee

So ya'll know, especially those that are already doing a challenge, or 10, with other teams, our first one is only a week long, just to get our team's "feet" wet! I'm doing 4 challenges right now, not counting when this one starts, and I had to put up a poster board so I could see where the heck I was and what I was supposed to be doing at any given time of the day or night! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA...Ya'd think this should be NUTS...but I'm LOVING it!

Okay, team, let me hear back from ya'll, and we'll get this walking show on the road!!

WE CAN DO THIS!!

I have a pedometer but it is way too sensitive, so I don't use it, because I can't seem to get it adjusted. I can't afford one of the better quality ones. I'll have to "sit" this one out. emoticon

I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards.
~Abraham Lincoln, U.S. President~

Now there's a guy that proved he sure knew what he was talking about! And such a good example for us to follow...So, okay everybody, here we go!

We're going to start out slow...so let's all get thinking about it.

Does everyone have a pedometer? That's what we're going to be using for this, OUR FIRST CHALLENGE!

Everybody, get back to me on this, the "Let's Get Ready For A Small Challenge" thread, and let me know when ya'll have your "peds" and then we'll go from there!
