Well I'm down 2.6 this week but probably put it all back on yesterday...my Hubby made me homemade chocolate covered strawberries...yum!! AND I drank too much wine...it's the 1st I've had since we started the challenge & boy was it good!

Ursula - emoticon Get a picture from high school & hang it on the fridge & one on the junk food cabinet. I've been having a real time w/sweets lately. I kept thinking, OK I'll portion them & wind up eating the whole thing...so I just quit buying them altogether for right now. I have NO self control!

Jennie - Yes, I'd love to to the race thing again!

So here's the question...do we finish this race until everyone gets to Loveland & do what Happywife is doing & climb mountains until the others get there OR...start a new race & where do we want to race to and from?? I'm inclined to start a new race then it's a fresh start for all...what's your thoughts?

No weight loss for me, either, but I got 180 minutes of exercise, and happily, it wasn't all shoveling this week. I'm having a really hard time with the eating, and just staying on track in general. Not sure what my problem is. Need to get my butt motivated. I have my 20 year high school reunion in 6 months, and really would like to be one of those people that people see and say, "Oh My God! You look GREAT!" I have about 50 pounds to go before I am down to my high school weight. That would be ideal. But, somehow I just can't stop eating. Maybe I could wire my jaw shut? ;) At least I'm done eating for today, and tomorrow is a new day, and a new week.

Okay I lost 3lbs and had 15 minutes of Fitness time last week. I guess that is not to bad considering everything that has been going on! :(

Ya know, it's kind of funny, cause I've only been to Nebraska once... passing through, on the way to Yellowstone National Park, with a group of high school aged Scouts. We camped outside of Omaha, and had to pack up and leave the site at 2am, cause the weather had gotten so bad. Not sure if it was actually a tornado, or just really bad wind gusts (and rain, and hail) but when the people in the RVs started high tailing it out of there, figured we'd better take our little nylon tents and hit the road. :)

Ursula - I REALLY feel for you, shoveling snow has got to be the worst way of getting exercise possible...LOL...but hot cocoa is yummy especially w/some peppermint schnapps! I updated the map & your cruising through tornado alley...hanging out in Aurora, Nebraska. Keep an eye out for that cantaloupe size hail they get there! I'm just south of you in Kansas...I'll race you to the Colorado border...

Sorry for the late post... AGAIN. Why, yes, Becky... I was shoveling, for the TWELFTH TIME THIS WEEK! I'm so sick of the snow, I can't even see straight. And now, to add insult to injury, it's 8 degrees here. We got 21 inches last tues-wed, and then we got 3 more inches on Saturday, and another 2 last night. There is nowhere left to put it!

On the plus side, I got 170 minutes of exercise (yes, ALL shoveling) and I'm not even sure I counted it all, but whatever. And I lost 1 pound. You'd think with all that shoveling, it would have been more, but I'm sure it was too much cocoa and coffee after shoveling and playing outside with the boys. Getting back on track...going to go get on the ellipitcal now. :)

Sorry I'm late but it looks like I'm not the only one...everyone buried in snow?? I hope not, but Ursula I'm pretty sure I know your answer.

Jay - 65 minutes is great! Every bit counts...like you said, if you're getting more accountability then it's all good! Keep it up!!

I only did 60 min myself this week but did manage to lose 1.2 and I too am gaining accountability cuz without it I would have gained for sure!

Ursula, I have been doing some carpentry (laying a sub floor an flooring in my daughter's house) and now, totally redoing my house. Today, though, I dropped a 2X10 across my foot. It is swollen and black and HURTS emoticon ! Working through pain burns more calories, though.....right? emoticon

I will take on the fourteeners! As for weightloss, it is complicated. When I got the new scales, it showed and unrealistic weightloss. I am just catching up to my tracker! I won't complain about 18# this month, though. Three pounds of it this past week. emoticon

Hi girls! Woo Hoo on all the progress!

Sorry for being late (AGAIN), Lisa! I lost a whopping ZERO pounds this week. I actually had a 2 pound gain, but I am blaming that on PMS. I expect to be back down (and then some) next week. I had 285 minutes of exercise this week, and my Woo Hoo is that I actually did some strength training (for the first time in a WHILE) and I used my heart rate monitor during 2 of my elliptical workouts this week. My goals for this week: Use the heart rate monitor during EVERY workout, do TWO sessions of ST, and track all my food for at least 3 days. I've gotten SO lazy with the tracking, and I don't know why I can't just make myself do it. I know that tracking = mindful eating = weight loss. So, why can't I just take the 10 minutes a day to do it??? Who knows. I'm gonna go start right now... :)

Jaynee - Can I ask what kind of exercise you are doing for more than 1,000 minutes a week!?!?! That's incredible!!!

Wow!! You guys are kicking butt on exercise this week! Great job!!!

emoticon emoticon emoticon Jaynee!!! You have made it to Loveland in record time!! WTG! Are you up for a little side challenge while you're waiting on the rest of us? There are 56 "Fourteeners" (mountains over 14,000 ft) in Colorado so if you are up for it...Let's see how many you can climb while you wait on us. You get 1 mountain for every 60 minutes of exercise or 1# lost.

Jay - Don't worry it doesn't send you back to England & Jennie is right, your doing GREAT on exercise so you are probably building muscle...must be all that swimming you know ...LOL

Jennie - 412 minutes & sick...You Rock!! Hope you are feeling better!

Ursula - Where are you?? Stuck in a snow bank??

I managed to get 90 min exercise this week...not much but WAY more than I have been doing! My WooHoo! is I lost 2.2 & am getting out of Alabama this week!!

That is great, 60 minutes is GREAT!!!! I did survive and added some more time to mine yesterday on the wii fit, But I will give an update on Saturday after log a few more tonight, tommorow and Saturday when I do my last chance workout.. :) Keep your head up and walk with pride.. Jennie - At 200/week then your mileage per min is right that I entered below...So did you survive the gym? 94 min..woohoo! I've updated the map...you're stopped a pretty lake just outside of Akron, Ohio. Maybe you can do a little ice skating!

I managed to get 60 min so far this week which is good for me! I'm resting today & going to try getting in a Wii session tomorrow & something on Saturday...I really want to get out of Alabama!

Okay my daughter in law and I went to the gym tonight.. We finally wore out after 94 minutes.... Now lets see if I can move in the morning!

Welcome to the challenge JENNAWREN!

I see with 93 minutes logged already you plan to give us some stiff competition!! Bring it on!

You have 1610 miles to reach Loveland. You better get moving before that nasty storm hits! Make sure to bring your mittens and hot cocoa...no whip cream, of course...if you hurry you can meet up with Ursula in Nebraska.

You have 20 days to complete the journey and you will arrive on time if you do 600 minutes of exercise and lose 4 #'s. - You move 1.4 miles for every minute you exercise and 201.3 miles every time you lose a pound. So get a move on and think of all the calories you'll burn while freezing in the mid-west!

Rock Springs, Wyoming is a beautiful town. I think I will take the day tomorrow to explore Flaming Gorge. Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area
Flaming Gorge makes perfect use of the County's unbelievable 300 days of sunshine. A boater’s paradise, Flaming Gorge is known for its brilliant red cliffs, incredible vistas and nearly 100 miles of boating waters and trophy fishing. You can access Flaming Gorge on Highway 530 through Green River or Highway 191 through Rock Springs. I would love to stay here for the Chocolate Extravaganza, but I have every intention of being in Loveland in 11 days! emoticon

emoticon Happywife! Kicking butt on the exercise! I've added your 200 min/week to your goals...at the rate you are going you'll have that in no time. Your revised goal is:

You will arrive on time if you do 1000 minutes of exercise and lose 15 #'s. - You move .7 miles per exercise minute and 43.4 miles every time you lose a pound. Keep up that exercise & you might be there in record time!

Let's set my weekly exercise goal at 200. I want to make it attainable on a regular basis. I did 190 minutes so far today! I am painting my daughter's bedroom.

You have 990 miles to reach Loveland. Bundle up! You've got a chilly walk across the blizzard ridden mid-west ahead of you on the way Loveland. Better get some new snow boots & mittens!

You have 30 days to complete the journey and you will arrive on time if you do 480 minutes of exercise and lose 8 #'s. - You move 1 miles for every minute you exercise and 61.9 miles every time you lose a pound. So get that running shoes ready and hit the road! You may want to pick up some of those foot & hand warmers on the way...

Up for a little challenge??? Of course you are!!

We are starting a virtual race to Loveland, CO. You start in your hometown and earn miles based on your goal accomplishments. You'll get scenic photos & geographical tidbits along the way & maybe even meet up with a fellow racer. First one to Loveland wins!

All you have to do is pick a goal or goals you want to accomplish by Valentine's Day and post your progress weekly at minimum. How simple is that??

It's never to late to join...all miles earned will be scaled based on when you join & how many miles you have to go to get there. For example...my goals are to exercise 90 min/week and lose 10 #'s by Valentine's day. I have 2,166 miles to travel & I get 3 miles for every minute exercised & 108.3 miles for every # I lose.

So get off your butt & sign-up!! Post here with your hometown & goal and/or goals to accomplish by Valentine's Day. Then post and boost your accomplishments, at minimum, here weekly and I'll update your progress on the race map.
