I finally bought this book last week. I haven't made the dedication to sit down and thumb through the recipes yet, but I plan to in the near future. Glad I finally bought it!

I bought Veganomicon last month and I LOVE IT!!!! There are so many recipes that are not only tasty but versatile too- I keep making one great meal after another, and I have my omnivorous friends begging me for the recipes- I totally recommend it- and it's especially good for someone like me who is just transitioning to a veg*n lifestyle, and is learning about all the fun stuff one can do with vegetables:~}

I just bought this today without even knowing about this tread - LOL! The recipes look really good, and I can't wait to try it. I do wish it had nutritional stats thought.

I finally got my copy--it was backordered when I ordered it so it took a couple of weeks, but I have to say that it was definitely worth the wait. I made the Hot Sauce Glazed Tempeh that was recommended on another thread (may have even been another team, not sure). Anyway, it was amazingly good. Yummy. I have been reading through the cookbook and there are a lot of recipes I can't wait to try.

I hang out at a veggie website fairly often and everyone there is thrilled with the chickpea cutlets. I thought they were so-so and haven't made them again. I think I did make a portabello mushroom sandwich from the book that was outstanding (at least, I think it was from this book!)

I'm a work in progress!

Having a quick look through the vegan parmesan thread reminded me: has anyone tried the parmesan recipe in Veganomicon??
I remember it jumped off the page at me when I was flicking through it the other day.. can't remember what the ingredients were but it looked really simple. I've been unable to find ANY store bought variety in New Zealand and have found it easy to go without, but sometimes get a bit of a craving..

I'm (not so) patiently waiting for this to appear in a bookstore in Holland. I should ask, I guess. it's getting so many good reviews and I have Vegan with a Vengeance which I love.

My roommate got me this book for Christmas and I was so excited! It's so big that I don't even know what to try first! I have just started by reading the intro...I am new to a vegan lifestyle so it is very helpful and interesting to me to learn different techniques and ingredient ideas for vegan cooking.

I got Veganomicon for Christmas from my MIL. I love it. I made the vodka sauce to have with GF pasta the other day. Outstanding. :)

I have Isa's other books, too, but I so far I like all the information in this one quite a bit.

Oh, I know I can always plug the recipe into my SparkRecipes cookbook - it's just nice to know the general calories of something at a quick glance before I commit to making it. Generally I can just look at the ingredients being used and the number of servings involved and get a fairly okay idea, but sometimes, you just never know. ;)

I was hoping to get this as a Christmas gift, but alas - no. Maybe I'll buy it some time later. Glad it's getting lots of great reviews.

I bought this back in November - and LOVE it. There are so many great ideas and everything I've made has been delightful.
The beginning of the book - even though there aren't technically recipes - have some great ideas of things I've done, like roasting Eggplant and Tomatoes, etc.

I also received V Cusine for Xmas. The entire thing is amazing. I've made soups, pasta sauces, and spring rolls from it already, not to mention 2 different salad dressings. I think it's my favorite cookbook yet, and I'd highly recommend checking it out.

As for nutritional content, I picked up MasterCook software a long time ago - all you need to do is plug in the recipe and it calculates everything for you. Then I also end up with an electronic copy of my recipes that I can email to friends, or just pull up quickly.

Sorry for the long post, I'm very passionate about cooking!!!

Crissie

There are so many cookbooks that do not list nutritional information, but if you have a program like MasterCook, you can enter the recipe and it will give you the nutritional information. I'd be lost without it.

I love it! Everything I have made has turned out delicious. So far, there isn't anything I don't like about the recipes or the format.
Yum!

Just bumping for more reviews on this cookbook if any of you have it - what do you think? Any favorite recipes? Anything you don't like about it?

I have it and I love it! There's a section at the front about lower fat cooking, and the "healthier" recipes are also marked. There's also a section about grilling/roasting/how to generally cook different vegetables, beans and grains at the beginning. I highly recommend it. Everything I've made out of there is awesome.

I forgot to add, the book does not include nutrition info. I don't know of many cookbooks that do though.

I ordered Veganomicon from Barnes & Noble and it arrived on 10/24. There are lots of healthy recipes featuring veggies, whole grains, and legumes, plus the usual suspects like tofu and tempeh. Many recipes are low fat or can be made lower in fat.

I made the baja grilled tempeh tacos and they are really good. I had the leftovers for dinner tonight.

I haven't tried it yet, but I did order it a couple days aga from amazon. Should get it sometime next week. The reviews they had on it were all glowing and I really enjoy Vegan with a Vengeance, so I thought I would give it a try.

I am very anxious to try it and will definitely be putting up my thoughts on the recipes I try!

Has anyone tried out this newish cookbook yet? If you have it, do you like the recipes? Do they print nutrition info with the recipes, or do you have to figure them out as you go?

I'm pretty interested in this book - but it's helpful when they print the nutrition breakdowns with a recipe to see whether it's worth my time or not.

Thanks!
