I have been having the EXACT same issue for months now ! I switched to vegan at the end of October, went back to see the date on my blog about this subject, but it was dated Oct 2 - 3 weeks before the switch. Maybe it doesn't have anything to do with your vegan diet.
Thanks for the information. It is mainly in the soft tissue, I believe. So, yeah, Dr. consult is needed. I guess that is nothing to fool around with. Glad to get a confirmation that it is not a "vegan" thing. :)
Is the pain in the bone at the end of your tail bone or is the pain in the soft tissue area? If it is bone pain, you could have something called as pilonidal cyst. My son had one and it is a very painful infection on the end of your coccyx bone. Reach back and push on the area at the end of the bone, if that is where the pain is, you need to see a Dr. If this is what is happening, it has nothing to do with being vegan, it is just bad luck that came along at the same time as you becoming vegan.
If the pain is in the soft tissue and the pain is severe see a Dr. then too. Soft tissue injuries or things that have to do with the bowels usually clear up on their own....of course unless you have blood. Then of course call a Dr.

Has anyone experienced pain around the tailbone area since becoming vegan? Pain when sitting, but especially when getting back up and standing up. No pain when standing or walking. Just curious. One would think that a healthy colon would be a result of a good vegan diet.
