I wear under armour cold gear for winter running. Basically a base layer top and bottom, then a running jacket, gloves and a neck gator that can be converted to a hat.
I am debating about buying a pair of YakTrax but I'm not sure yet.
i wear windbreaker pants and listen to the pixies or arcade fire to get me going in the cold!
Winter is when I run the most, when summer comes around, I'm on the bikes. I wear layers... I wear pearl izumi tights, a light tshirt, arm warmers, a jacket, and gloves... the type of glove depends on how chilly it is. I usually start out cold, but it doesn't take long for me to warm up and even if it's in the 20s or 30s, the coat usually comes off and gets tied around my waist.
Some is just trial and error on what works best for you and the temps you're dealing with.
A ship is safe in harbor, but that's not what ships are for.
I don't like running in the cold, but I'm getting better. I ran yesterday and it was 19 and felt like 3 just ran 3 but here is what I did. I wore underarmor running pants, running skirt, I have to look good running too LOL. On the top, bottom layer was a wicking shirt from a run, underarmor cold wear shirt, running jacket. On my head ear muffs, underarmor mask coverhead and face but can be taken off easy(didn't yesterday), underarmor gloves and then cheap gloves I can thow if needed and heat pockets to put in the gloves. I hope this helps.

This is my least favorite time of year for running. I really struggle with motivation to get outside when it's chilly. Luckily, I live near VA Beach so it's not THAT cold, but I'm still wondering about some good cold weather gear that could help me out. Any recommendations? I have an 8K coming up on March 20th, so I need to get used to being outside more. Thanks in advance for the help! ;)
