I am looking forward to my blood test results, or perhaps I'm not. I'm hoping they will tell me I am not crazy, just out of whack (is there a difference?) and fixable. I hate growing older, so many things just keep falling apart on me.

Today I WILL keep my eating under control and I will exercise before bed!!!!

I've been doing great with NOT nighttime snacking, working out for an hour everyday (just got INSANITY in the mail too), drinking 12-16 glasses of water a day, and getting my house really organized (REALLY clean ONE room a day is working great).

Hmmm... I am doing the opposite. Was doing a lot of heavy lifting and bulking before the holidays, and now I am doing a leaning out or "cutting" phase. A lot of cardio and circuits.

Ok, Started the new year off right by running a 10k. Today I am starting back to the 5 days of strength training and eating right. The holidays were rather stressful to me, I didn't do well. I hope 2010 is a better year for all of us. Happy New Year everyone.

Did good right through Christmas eve then not so much. Too many cookies, too much beer and not enough activity. I find the holidays really stressful. Its back to business time though, I have a race on the 1st and really want to reach 140's before spring 2010. Hope everyone's holiday was great. Happy New Year!

I did pretty good over Christmas. We didn't really overeat that much, but I wasn't going to dwell on it if I had. I did get my exercise in each day and that helped. Hope you all have a great week. Happy New Year and Happy New You!

Food is always with me, too. It comforts me and entertains me, but the food choices are different now. I am as thrilled with berries with yogurt and splenda as I used to be with pie. It took time and willingness, but it works. I don't tempt myself though. A Cheeto hasn't passed my lips in 30 years because there is no way I could eat just 1000.

Food is always an issue with me. It's always there to comfort me, soothe me, reward me, fill me, punish me, torture me, and entice me. I definetly have food tied into my core being. I try to relate food into time on treadmill. That helps me to take less bites and focus on better things in life.

Diet is fine, running is more of a boredom challenge on the treadmill but am doing it. The added strength training is already paying off. If I could just really get back into the 100 push up deal that would be great. Keep forgetting to weigh myself, will do tomorrow.

I managed 46 mins on treadmill. Party foods today, not so great on cals, but not as bad as it could have been. I may not be losing, but I can surely see a difference in my usual holiday bingeing routine. Liz

65 mins on treadmill yesterday. Calories/fat in range. I've yet to get my strength training consistent. I need the muscle to burn the calories, hmmmmm. My calves are looking pretty good from all that walking!

Sat was an off day. Spent it on the road (6 hr drive), visit with Mom (candy & chinese buffet). I did manage to stand/walk in Walmart for 2 hrs, yuck!

Today was chores and fun day. Managed a one hr ride in the cool afternoon air, then got in 65 mins on treadmill. Even stayed within calorie range today, whoohoo!

Ready for tomorrow!

Got I did manage to get in the side lunge challenge for the other team and bowling yesterday, today nothing baking all day however I did not eat the cookies dough as I used to in the past.

Well, I managed to do 54 minutes of weights and 48 minutes of cardio. I most likely won't get much done tomorrow. My daughter's 6th birthday party, and we have invited 16 kids! emoticon

Bad day at work and I ate my way through it. I know what happened and why, just didn't seem to have the gumption to put a stop to it. Tomorrow is another day (as Scarlett would say) and I'll get extra exercise and eat well. Happy weekend to all!

Well Mon, Tue & Wed I got in 60 mins of walking. No walking today or most likely not tomorrow either work schudule just will not let me get it in. I also started on anoter team and have been doing the daily fitness challenge. I have also got in on those days either my DVD workout or ellipitcal. Still working on it tonight.

Yep! I did 55 minutes of HARD CORE cardio. I was also a pound lighter this morning; I guess all my ranting and raving yesterday helped burn some extra cals.

I usually get up at 6:00 AM. I did 48 minutes of weights (legs) then 33 minutes of cardio (step intervals)

I like Boston Pizza. They have ONE dish I get when I go there. I get a half order and it is made with whole wheat pasta (can't remember what it's called now). Anyhow, the pasta is tossed with tomatoes and chicken breast, a little olive oil and peppers...

Olive Garden is simple for me, not a pasta person. Now take me to a Mexican food restaurant and watch me inhale the chips and salsa.

Procrastination is always a problem. I used to do that alot with my exercise--too tired tonight, maybe in the morning. Ha! Now I try to stick to a plan of doing it before dinner. I did have a period of time that I got up at 4 am to do a 45 min cardio before work. Those were good times. I always felt pumped and fresh when I got to work.

I did get my cardio in last night, then ate my bowl of cereal. Yesterday was a successful day :)

It's a miracle! I had my anniversary lunch today at Olive Garden. I had the soup and salad, with 2 breadsticks. I'm still within calorie range for the day, can have a bowl of Special K for dinner and some fruit. Whoohoo!

Yipes, I'm late checking in but it looks like this...

My eating has been fine. I usually don't have trouble in that area.

Friday - Run 25 minutes, walk 10.

Saturday - Shopping for hours. Ugh...

Sunday - felt terrible laid around.

Monday - no exercise - 1 hour of steady housework to make up for Sunday.

Today - Run 30 minutes, walk 1 hour.

Strength training - I told you I am so bad at that... Liz, I like your idea about just figure 20 minutes and pick a zone. Maybe looking at it that way it won't seem so daunting.

I was so tired yesterday, early wake-up, long day of work, trip to Walmart, was trying to talk myself out of the workout. I got on the treadmill anyway, did 45 mins of cardio, then did my core workout. Ate a wonderful salad for dinner, worked on christmas presents for workers, and dropped into bed. My bad habit I worked on was attitude. I pushed to get the job done, even when I was tired.

Looks like we are all working toward our goal, keep on going, we can do this! Liz

I didn't work out on Saturday, but got 45 minutes of cardio and weights in yesterday. Today I did cardio, lower body with weights and went to Curves. I'm still eating too much...must be the cold weather and the change in my drugs. I'm trying to stay away from the extra carbs and sugar I'm craving.....

weekends are hard for me too. Anytime I'm off work puts me out of the routine. I've planned out my day, food and exercise. Taking my grandsons to see Planet 51 this afternoon, then we'll be back home for a sleepover. I must stay away from the cookies!

Yesterday I did 1 full hour of cardio on treadmill, followed by my strength trining. Little sore this morning, but this will pass in a few days of consistent exercise.

I'm not sure when this started, so I picked today. I got up and did my cardio workout and then went to Curves. I will walk over lunch. Hope everyone else got or is getting, their workout in today!

I'm going to work really hard to stay within my calorie range this weekend. One of my big weaknesses is weekends. I tend to go completely off plan starting Friday night. This weekend I'm tracking everything I eat and seeing how much I actually consume during the weekend....it will probably be SCARY!!!!

Awesome, we have a team! I can really use the accountability to keep me going. The strength training is not so hard, just incorporate 15-20 mins of exercise that targets a zone. I use the spark people exercises, have the program pick me 4-6 different ones. Easy to track on your fitness board.

My problem is that I have no problem doing cardio, I walk on treadmill everyday and get a good cardio workout in. My other muscles are gone. Guess what burns more calories--muscle. That's why I need to add the strength training. This old body is screaming for me to get back in shape, so many things I notice that are not good since I gained some weight back.

I'm in. But right now I'm doing STS program. So I do three one our weight training sessiona week, (not including 2, 20 minute AB sessions) plus 3 one hour cardio sessions a week. Works out the same in the end though... roughly.

Sounds good, I will give it a go. I am going to adjust the strength up to 4 times a week all areas, I do 3 x week now. The 3 has been a fairly solid habit and I don't want to rock that boat.

Anybody ready to commit to a long term (3 month)challenge? No quick fix, no instant skinny, just a long term goal to work everyday on losing some weight and improving our health.

1. 30 minutes of cardio daily (5 days a week)
2. one zone of strength training daily (upper, lower, or core) five days a week
3. stay within calorie range. Alternate days in the week for high, mid and low range.
4. recognize a weakness in your life or diet and work to eliminate it from your life (food additions, negativeness, smoking, etc.)

Let's see where this can take us. Share your progress with us, we all need support and pats on the back. Let's see where we can be on March 1, 2010.
