I've been meeting my goal and have actually been going over because of my current job. There are days when I can feel those extra steps, but it's good to keep going and keep the circulation flowing as well.
It was brought to my attention that we should have somewhere to record our daily steps and that we should be striving to move. My personal goal is to increase my steps. At some points I have hit plateaus and am still happy with the number I have. So, I also think that given this team is Challenged by Arthritis, we should also tell if we are happy with our step count.
You don't have to enter a lot, just three basic facts: # of steps: any number; status from last count: any descriptor like up, down, I out did myself, result of 10k, etc.; and finally how we feel about it: happy, bummed out, dancing and counting more steps, I hurt like heck and fought for every one, etc.
This is a no judgement zone. Only a source of accountability.
