You're welcome. I didn't realize you were new to Spark until I looked at your Spark page just now. I have IBS and fibromyalgia, too, plus depression and an anxiety disorder. I spend most of my time on the Dealing with Depression team, but I like this team, too.

SparkPeople has so many wonderful resources that it can be a bit overwhelming at first, but you'll soon be a pro. In case no one has gotten around to giving you a "Spark tour" I'll post what I usually post for newcomers. I hope it helps you in navigating the site. Here it is...


SparkPeople is great - it's a lifestyle change that basically focuses on baby steps:

1. Drinking 8 glasses of water daily
2. Exercising 3 to 5 times a week (you could start out with 10 minutes)
3. Eating healthier foods to cut back on calories.

Just choose ONE of the baby steps and start working it into your daily routine. When you have made that step a healthy habit that your body and mind are used to, then move on to the next step.

If you haven't already, check out the "Getting Started Guide" under the Site Quick Links section on the bottom right of the page. Most everything you need to know about Spark is on the orange tabbed toolbar near the top of the page. A few great things to look at would be:

* Nutrition and Fitness trackers under the My Trackers tab
* Exercise videos for every fitness level under the Articles & Videos tab (even chair exercises - in fact, there's a Chair Exercise Team)
* Inspirational Success stories under the Community tab.

It's great that you've already set up your Spark page.That way, others can "friend" you, leave encouraging comments on your page, and send you a Spark Goodie now and then. It's a fun and motivational way to connect with others who share your goals and challenges.
