My scale is broken so I don't know if I've lost weight or not. My grandsons like to weigh themselves all the time, I don't know if they had anything to do with the scale breaking or not!

I lost 40 pounds , ran (slowly) in the San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon and am eating smarter than ever before. I am currently trying to cement this weight loss. I'm using Spark People to figure out how to maintain and refresh my workout and nutrition. By setting new goals I will keep this thing going and not burnout. Thanks everyone for the info support encouragement. And happy mothers day people. It's Earth Day.... Be kind to your mother

I think we put too much emphasis on the scale here. My trainer does a body fat test on me about once a month and that is where I really see the changes. (As well as when she measures my inches.) If you put on muscle while you are losing your fat you won't see as much movement on the scale. Just as long as you look and feel better, that is the ultimate goal! Since January I lost 19 pounds. It was over 6 percent body fat. You can do this! Just keep moving forward. If we focus on the scale too much it sometimes gets us down. I take supplements that help me with my energy and I feel great. That, and they are making a difference in other ways as well. We should all just even be proud that we are still around. Many others have dropped out and we are still here trying to make a difference in our lives and the lives of others. emoticon

Congratulations. If you are only up 1 pound, you did great! That one pound could also be water. I find that I retain water after a long flight. You'll lose it quickly.

I keep gaining and losing the same pound or pound and a half due to fluctuations in water retention.

Oops, I don't know if this is where we put our Friday weigh-in weight or not. At any rate, I'm putting mine here for now. I was on a plane back from Kona, Hawaii on Friday, so I weighed today, Saturday. I now weigh 185. When I tried to record that on my nutrition, I was told I had to weigh less than my starting weight (184), so I changed the weigh to 185. Guess that means I am starting over. I don't like to think of weight gain on vacation of one pound as making me start over, but if that is the rule, that is the rule.
I still say, one pound for a full week of vacation isn't much to worry about. I am happy that it isn't any more.

The winter months really were hard. I love the cardio classes at the gym. I try to do the ST but find I procrastinate like crazy. I still haven't found the way to make myself like that.

Sorry Allen but the weather here in Alabama has been wonderful the last 3 days. 70's. Hard to believe that we had a snow storm just a week ago today.

I got back into my water aerobics after the warm up and I can feel everything tightening up. Boy I do love that feeling!

I didn't see any change, either. At least I'm not gaining (will fluctuate .5-1 lb.). Like you, I am not exercising enough. I did OK on strength this past week (3 days), but the cardio needs to be increased!

Iknow what you mean about going up,and down.I keep losing,and finding the same 5lbs.I should be getting frustrated,but I surf sparkpages,and so many are doing so well it keeps me focused.

Down 1 lb., I worked harder at it this week.My DH is always trying to sabotage my efforts, he brings in loads of my favorite cookies because he knows I like them so much. He tells me to throw them away if I don't want them. Sometimes I take them to work, or send them to the food pantry at church, and, yes, sometimes I eat them.I have given so many to my kids that they don't want them anymore either, and now they are trying to diet too.

I'm sitting where I was before, but I'm sure glad I watched the amount of food I ate over the holidays. I figured this must be the first time in years I didn't actually gain weight over the holidays!!!!! emoticon

oh oh, the scale moved in the wrong direction.

I guess all those holiday cheats caught up with me. Up 2 pounds. GRRRRRR

Planning on that changing though. I have signed up for 2 new challenges and I expext to get the rest off then.

Happy Day after Christmas everyone. I don't know about you but I'm always so relieved when it's over!! I'm not a Scrooge but I can't take all the stress and I get wore out. The family got together at the church fellowship hall yesterday. There was food everywhere, desserts galore. I'm lucky I just gained a pound!!Now I'm stressed about that too!
