Dear Blue,
Very AWESOME! I am up to 40 crunches, but with no weight on a machine...You are getting abs of steel! emoticon

My non-scale victory was yesterday in the parking lot of the grocery store. It was dinner time and I was getting hungry. As I placed my bags of food in the back seat, I was about to pull out a box of crackers to put in the front with the intention of munching on them for the ride home. I said out loud to myself, "No." And the box of crackers stayed in the back seat.emoticon

I love the non-scale victories!!
So far some of mine are jeans are fitting looser and I'm in a size the scale says i shouldn't be in yet; my vitals are SO much better! bp is 120/60, my O2 was 100% yesterday, pulse is around 68; i was able to really push myself on a treadmill workout without getting nearly as winded as i did in the past; i'm enjoying veggies and fruits so much more than i have in the past and i turn to them first instead of junk food; and the biggest one so far is that i had surgery on the 23rd to repair a torn tendon in my ankle and i'm in a cast and on crutches for 2 weeks. Well, the last time i had to use crutches i wasn't going to the gym on a regular basis, certainly wasn't doing strength training and building up my muscles, but this time I have been going to the gym on a regular basis and building my muscles and it has certainly made a difference.
Also, yesterday was one of the first times a doctor or nurse said "so you're a healthy woman." that's because they looked at the entire picture, not just the number on the scale, and that was a good feeling!!

If it's amazing, it won't be easy. If it's easy it won't be amazing. If it's worth it you won't give up. If you give up you're not worth it.

Sometimes I think Non-Scale Victories are far more fun to notice than checking the scale regularly for a number to change that could represent just about anything.

So tell us about them here! What Non-Scale Victory have you noticed on your journey to health, fitness, and a scale number under 200?

My big one recently is improvement in my ability to do crunches. When I first started this back in September 2011, I remember another team had these challenges every week and sometimes it was something like 100 crunches. I would do my 2 sets of 12-15 and feel beat, not even wanting to do them multiple times in the day to try to get to 100.

This past week at the gym, I not only did 3 sets of 12 on an abdominal crunch machine with 30 pounds, but followed it later with 3 sets of 15 regular crunches on a mat. Not quite 100, but definitely getting there and probably could if I pushed it.
